What a delight to see this piece of art. I am a collector of dollhouses- 1) 1925 made in Germany- lights, all inside furnished and decor by 3 sisters for my mother in law. 2) 1936 NYC 4 room made from orange crates for my mother. These are MY gems

This house is an amazing piece! I am shocked of the that beautiful glass roof and the interior survived. A music recreated by Barbra is very special. Thank you Michael for sharing this special piece of history! Your presentation is great as any other done by you.

I am enchanted, mesmerized and astounded. Not only do we have the visual window into the past but we can hear a message in music, that most likely exists nowhere else on earth. The craftsmanship, artistry, and ove that went into this house is amazing. As rare as it is today, I would think it would have had few contemporary examples even in 1790. Thank you so much for conserving and sharing. I don't do miniature work on this level. However, there is much that inspires me to get busy and create here.

Thrilling to see this object, a notable moment of history frozen in time. Michael Canadas explained it so well. I was blown away by the music at the end -- you brought it back to life! If only the lost harpsichord could be found. Thank you for sharing.

I live in Carmel and I had no idea that this was here, locally. I will have to stop by and see what you currently have out to see. What an incredible piece. It’s fantastic that it has survived all of this time and I’m so glad it’s in safe hands with you.

I'll bet, what is missing on the front, was a climbing rose, maybe on a trellis. It even looks like there used to be some sort of a decorative container for it. And to speculate further, the rosebush must have been made of silk, so being more subjected to the surroundings, it probably deteriorated faster. And it might even be, that any surviving flowers, where then added to the vases in the house 🙂💐 Speaking of amazing, antique dollhouses, have you seen the incredible "Titanias Palace" in Denmark?

I loved seeing this charming dolls house. The music books are amazing! To think they were written by hand with a quill pen- wow! Loved the dolls too. I think you ought to put a little harpsichord or spinet in there though!

How did this survive the Revolution? This reminds me of the Marie Antoinette automaton which plays the dulcimer The music recording is haunting. A woman in the early 1900s who was touring the gardens at Versailles, claimed to experience a time slip, and she heard musics from the 1790s.

Very intersting to see a French 18th century roombox, one of a kind. I'm curious to know more about the persons who made it, it's difficult to read the signature at the back of the commode : "fait par ... Perraud (ou Pierrard?) ... le 29 octobre 1790"
