Hell yeah! It's been a while since I've listened to Before the Dawn. Today the KZread algorithm has blessed me.

The original song is done with two different singers. It can't be very easy for Paavo Laapotti to sing this, but I can't deny that he is very skilled indeed to do so!🤟😈

Tuomas is such gem to Finnish metal scene ! Just discovered him and absolutely love it!

arguably my favorite band, honestly the reason i started learning guitar on my own. Paavo doesn’t get enough credit from SOME of the fans. He does a great job and is honestly the reason this band came back. If he didn’t sing Deadsong on The Voice, Downhearted would never have been recorded and this band would’ve stayed “dead” like it had been. Hope to see you guys in the USA soon

we don't know that. Maybe something else would lit the spark and the band would come back eventually. Anyways, I'm glad it happened and the band is alive and well, I like the new record and can't wait to see old / new songs live for the first time since 2010

@@TrulyStucker that’s exactly what happened. And I’ve watched plenty of interviews with Tuomas. The Before the Dawn rebirth was almost an accident. They recorded Downhearted and Tuomas was listening to the demo and thought it sounded like BTD, sent the demo to everyone and they all agreed. If Paavo didn’t preform Deadsong on the voice, Downhearted would never have been recorded and BTD wouldn’t have came back, so yes. Paavo ABSOLUTELY deserves the credit from the fans

Paavo performs these old btd-songs really well. I relly enjoyed the live gig a month ago...

Almost three minutes of 16th notes on the kick straight up with no breaks. Not a very fast tempo, but the duration alone makes it pretty tough to pull off so clean. Well done.

I love Lars, but this is BTD now. Paavo does a great job and will only get better. He’s really the reason this band came back, deserves a lot more credit from the fans.

@@LosDuderinos BTD existed before Lars, it’ll exist after him. Panu did a great job before Lars as well. Each era of BTD has its own distinct sound and this is the latest era. I love it. To each their own. The hate isn’t necessary though

​@@reiheractual ce n'est pas de la haine... On a juste le droit de donner son avis. Paavo n'est pas aussi bon que l'était Lars. Lars, à mon goût était le meilleur des trois chanteurs "clean" de BTD. Sa voix transmettait plus d'émotions que celle des deux autres. Lars n'a peut-être pas remporté The Voice Finland, il a juste un timbre de voix qui vous prend dans les tripes, celle qui donne des frissons... Nulle autre n'est comparable. Ce n'est pas de la haine... Bien au contraire, c'est une preuve de notre admiration pour le talent de Lars😊❤❤

Tuomas has a great vision with Paavo, and I see that. Time to let go of the past before the dawn and welcome the new. If you like the old listen to it, tbh we should be grateful that they play old songs with different musicians.
