He is a entity from a lower plane I think, a psychonaut. Ghosts can't do all the things he can do. Some things that make me think this. He has to be summoned but cannot give his name. He can control the genus loci of an environment. Change reality. He wants to be married to bind to anchor himself to this plane of reality. He is known to the dead, because he lurks in the in between places.

One of the greatest movies... Awesome cast.. awesome director . I would have given my pinky toe to have been on the set during filming of this movie . This film means so much to me ,I can't explain it but I grew up watching this and edward scissorhands. Both movies are near and dear to my heart .

the bit where the Maitlands put on sheets and howl like ghosts, with Lydia thinking her parents are going at it noisily in the other room was hysterical. terrific 4K transfer too, thank you much!!

The one where the girl rips her face off had me dying

This was one of the many old movies my dad made me and my sister watch when we were little. Best decision he could’ve made for us.

One of my favorite movies of all time. Only flaw was that Beets needed more screen time

Whenever my sister and I are together for a holiday or vacation, this is our staple background movie to fall asleep with. So many fond memories.

All this movie needs is Fizzarolli and Ozzie singing together.

I love the afterlife characters, especially Miss Argentina the crabby desk clerk. I went as an “afterlife” sort of character for a Halloween party. I was a “party cake pop-out girl” who had been accidentally baked while still in the cake. I smeared black charcoal on my skin, wore a one piece swimsuit, a wig that looked like scorched hair, makeup that looked as if I had been burned, and made a soft “cake” out of foam rubber to wear and sit in. It looked like I had been baked while still in the cake, before I was supposed to pop out of it for a party. The “cake” was lightweight, easy to carry/move with, easy to assemble/disassemble, and well decorated.

The part where the guy has eyes on his fingers and the girl has eyes on her tongue is funny 😂 expecially the pop sound effects 😂

3:23 this part still scares me 😭

I love that there is bureaucracy in the afterlife. Why would it be any different than earth?

I did not get the closet scene until I was in my 30’s house hunting. F*cking terrifying.

You'd think Barbara would be used to all the freaky characters, considering her previous relationship was with a mutant flyman.

Miss Argentina was my favorite secondary character in the movie, Lydia was my favorite main character in the movie as well.

I agree although I think his worst film is Planet of the Apes. I’m a massive Tim Burton fan but that’s the only one of his films that I dislike.
