Sounds like Warner Brothers put you two through the ringer getting this video out! Thanks for sticking with it. In honour of Halloween, may I suggest you look at The Addams Family from 1991 with Raul Julia and Angelica Houston, or another from Tim Burton. Think you might enjoy Dark Shadows or Sleepy Hollow if you have not already seen them.

The FX Tim Burton used, stop motion, was intentional and not because of dated technology at the time. It produced a spookier and more gothic look which is a signature of his movies.

You were right. This role is what convinced Tim Burton to cast Michael Keaton as Batman. Also, the music to the movie, and all Tim Burton Movies is done by Danny Elfman (from the band Oingo Bongo) who also does the theme song for The Simpsons.

Michael Keaton actually got his start as a production assistant with the show, Mr Rogers Neighborhood. When he worked for the show, he controlled the Trolley and did other tasks that were needed, such as being in costume or anything like that. At night he would go to Comedy clubs and perform there. After speaking with David Newell who played the role of Mr McFeeley, he learned where he could try out for different acting roles and his career went from there.

"It's Showtime!" Beetlejuice (Michael Keaton) owned this role and the thing I always forget is how little he's in the movie. What scenes he does have he dominates. Also, the main thing is that the movie makes you smile, laugh and no matter how crazy everything gets, you always feel sympathy for Adam Maitland (Alec Baldwin) and Barbara Maitland (Geena Davis), the married couple and Lydia Deetz (Winona Ryder).

Technically Jim Carrey was already doing movies at this time, even though he wasn’t a big star yet. He started doing movies in the early 80s as an unknown, then he hit it big after the sketch comedy show he was on that got noticed… it was called In Living Color, then Ace Ventura was what made him a star

Also, If Saturday Night Live had accepted Jim Carrey as a cast member… he would’ve been a star long before he did. But due to SNL rejecting him, his stardom was delayed unfortunately. He didn’t become a star until 1994. Which was perfect for me, because I was 7 at the time so I was fortunate enough to be one of those who grew up with his career

Fun fact: Warner bros was hesitant about both Tim Burton and Michael Keaton doing Batman. They were only use to the silly Adam West Batman from the 60s, they couldn’t see Batman as a dark serious character. But when Beetlejuice was successful, they green lit Burton as director. But when Michael Keaton was cast as Batman, everybody was deeply concerned. But he blew everybody away with his performance as Batman/Bruce Wayne.

"Are you a ghost, too?" "I'm a ghost with the most, babe." Fun Fact: Michael Keaton, playing the title character, only appears in 14.5 minutes of the film. Music Enthusiast Fact: Tim Burton feared the Day-O (1956) by Harry Belafonte sequence wouldn't go over well, since in his opinion it wasn't very funny. He turned out to be wrong, audiences loved it and think of it as one of the film's most iconic scenes. Parapsychology Foreshadowing Fact: At the dinner party, Otho (Glenn Shadix) states that people who commit suicide end up as "civil servants" in the afterlife. This is actually expanded on in the film. The civil servant ghosts that Adam (Alec Baldwin) and Barbara (Geena Davis) meet are people who appear to have ended their own lives. The receptionist (Patrice Martinez) says she committed suicide, there is a man who hanged himself, and the crushed messenger (Carmen Filpi) is implied to have done it to himself. Juno (Sylvia Sidney) looks normal, but there are scars on her neck that indicate she cut her own throat. Beetlejuice (Michael Keaton) is said to have been a civil servant and Juno's assistant; it was going to be explained in the film that he hanged himself (incompetently and very painfully), due to heartbreak. While this was cut out of the film for running time purposes, it is hinted when Beetlejuice is surprised at Lydia (Winona Ryder) wishing to die.

The nostalgia is what makes it special, all in all.

"HEY....Ur MESSIN up my hair!!" 2 is coming out this Year 😮😮. Just remember, what's the main thrust besides the couple wanting to stay in the house? For the dead to coexist with the living, and beetleguese can take it a step further , he can completely leave the afterlife if he gets married!😮😮😮 Tim Burton films all should be watched. The guy's stuff is always totally original! He got his start as a Disney animator, but after a few years, fired from them because his work was considered way too far out there! But his most magical heartfelt....that I don't think u can get through, Big Fish.😭. Mom is from Schitts Creek, and home alone mom! Keaton did some great movies before this, Mr Mom, Johnny Dangerously, Gung Ho, and one of the funniest movies ever, Nightshift! In this movie, he practically ad-libbed everything! He also did an extremely touching movie about a man dying, so he videotapes everything so his kids have it. I don't remember the name but his wife was Nicole Kidman, in it!

This was a fun movie as a kid and it was popular enough to spawn a Saturday morning cartoon. Since Halloween is approaching, watching The Exorcist is a must. (I you haven't already) Also,Texas Chainsaw Massacre.

How was this movie ever made? Who green lighted this script to proceed and what were they thinking? This is Michael Keaton showing he can do the Robbin Williams or Jim Carrey wild acting thing. Say the name three times to summon him .... how Dungeons and Dragons. Hey look, it's Batman playing the dead version of The Joker.

17:58..I dunno, the way some of these kids dress today makes that seem tame. 26:15..Of all the beings to mess with, He had to try and screw the headshrinker (LOL) 27:47.Good point, it's very Jim Carrey-ish--reminded me of "The Mask", too. So crazy how in 2 years, Keaton went from this psycho, hyperactive, wild-funny role to a brooding, silent and grim Batman...That's some acting!!
