Beetle gear shift linkage rebuild - shortening shift rod and new custom bushing for the Renobug.

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

It's Wifey Wednesday! Time to do some more work on the Renault/VW Beetle project. In this round, the floor pan is finally painted and I can start assembly. First though, I need to shorten the gear shift rod to suit the shortened VW Beetle floor pan. I also make my own shift rod bushing, which is a huge improvement on the factory version.

VW enthusiasts secret: The top of a plastic bottle (such as a plastic oil top-up bottle) when cut off is a perfect fit (and I do mean perfect!) for a shift rod bushing and works better than the factory bushing.

And I know, that it's more effort to film and edit this kind of content. Therefore again and as always: Thanks a lot for making teaching explaining recording editing uploading and sharing. Best regards luck and health in particular.
