Its been done. Group of friends were put into a party setting and given beer. They were told they just wanted to see what they did. The people supplying the beer though would only give non-alcoholic beer to a certain person and normal beer to everyone else. At the end of the night the one who had been drinking non-alcoholic beer all night was acting the same as the drunk people.

Lagers got a bad rep from the cheap shit, but trust me, try a real German lager like something from Weihenstephaner (no idea how to pronounce it) and it will change your perception of lagers completely. Lagers don't really let you do much to them and German brewers don't add anything to their beers other than malts, hops, and yeast, but somehow they can end up with some amazing flavor profiles. The only thing that sucks is that lagers don't really go past 5 abv, unlike ales.

zeuanimals ah well German's are wizards at beer and meat. I'd love to try some real german beers though. I've had a couple but nothing too fancy. yeah ale has an advantage there but it's not always good. BrewDog for example, cool branding, high percentage, tastes like you might die.

Are any of these beers actually cheap in Ireland? In Switzerland for example Coors is between 2 and 4 bucks which isn't really cheap, 2 is normal and I'd say 50 cents is cheap. What is considered cheap in Ireland?

Beers don't really get "expensive," the most you'll pay is maybe $10 at the most for a 12oz bottle of the rare stuff. I usually pay $20 for a 4 pack of the good shit (St Bernardus) when I'm in the mood.

Potentially. Some people just hate beers in general (A regular beer is nothing like soda or sweet tea some people might prefer to drink. Its all relatively a little bitter and more complicated, not to mention weird stuff the alcohol taste might do, etc. Some people just skip over beers and go for cocktails, ciders, or hard sodas, etc), but there's definitely a difference among the types, and with all the main mass market ones like bud, millers, corona, etc, they are not only all within roughly the same sort of lighter style (meaning there's almost no diversity between all the big name brands), but also made worse than a craft beer equivalent. The craft market, or if you're willing to look to some expensive imports, can contain much different and various flavors. Some are outright crazy combinations, some intense in a certain flavor direction, while others are just a better made version of the same lighter lager or pilsner here. I'd recomend starting with something subtle like a white ale/wheat beer. Its different enough from the everyday miller stuff to have some unique flavor and spice, but nothing overpowering, or insane. Dogfish head do an amazing one, but New Belgium, Shocktop, and plenty of others do one, especially around spring time. The price isn't even that bad either, these "cheap beers" are just like $3 of difference as far as the average craft brand goes in grabbing a six pack.

The point obviously is that it's made flavorless so that anyone can drink it without minding the taste *meaning they drink to get wasted*. "But you can have so much flavor, the malt etc etc". Visited Denver this last October, and we went to the Coors factory, they offer free tours and free beers on the tour. It was an awesome experience honestly, and I don't care how much people hate on Coors, they make a great variety of beers (they give you 3 free samples). I'm not a big beer drinker, but Coors still has a warm spot in my heart for that cool tour.

my bad , I wasn't thinking of and forgot about all the brews that are not common every where.

Out of all these beers, I find Canadian to be the one with the most flavor. Sure it doesn't have the depth like a craft brew, but compared to the others they reviewed at least there is a flavor.

You need to get a professional sommelier for this sort of test. They’re professionals. They know how to blind test, they know their tasting notes, and they know how to properly rate something within its appropriate category. It’s not, oh I don’t like it so it’s bad.

The subtle dings in the background music from time to time made me take off my headphones in a panic thinking someone rang my doorbell..

I usually drink the good stuff, puts a dent in the wallet though, especially these days. However, these cheap "beers" are basically piss water, and ill often pick up a pack just to have something gross to drink. Not only does it slow down consumption, but you really appreciate it again when going back to the good stuff.

I saw a beer review with the same beers in Mexico, they also had the same results!🤘🏼🍺

Coors Banquet is about as "C" as you can get. Not great and not bad. Wouldn't hesitate to drink it over all the piss water in this video though.

All these American light lager beers are just made to get drunk off of and be as unoffensive as possible. If you like your beer to taste like nothing then drink them all you want. More power to you. I won't turn them down, but I prefer to have some flavor in my beer. If that makes me a beer snob then so be it.

I don't see why people even like drinking these even if it's just for the sake of getting drunk. These light lagers have incredibly low ABV. I don't think I've ever drunk a beer that was that low in abv unless it was advertised as a session beer which are specially made NOT to get drunk off of so i don't see why people drink bud light to get drunk when you could be drinking a Double IPA or Imperial Ale which range from 8.4-12% ABV and be getting drunk off just drinking 3-4 of those

I think you're wrong. All the beers they were given were crappy beers, but they went into the taste test with an open mind. The proof of that would be the Canadian beer. They say they have high hopes for it because of its big head. In fact, once they taste it, they say they're disappointed because they had high hopesz

That’s the expensive beer! Keystone, Milwaukee’s best, and natural light are some cheap beers. This is the high class beer I drink after I get a fat check.

The Doofus Network they're not gross at all, they're just not as good as the best.

I'm not a huge fan of critics of any sort. But beer critics in particular are a pretentious bunch. Like the scotch experts had good things to say about some of the cheap whisky, but these beer people acted like it was all undrinkable. I even saw a video where a vodka expert said there was one difference between cheap vodka and $40 a bottle vodka, marketing. Obviously beer is a more complex drink but still, I think it takes a certain level of narcissism to think you can judge any product beyond your own opinion.

I take it your the kind of guy who don't care about what beer you pour in your glass. I do see your perspective, but these people are used to drinking vastly more flavorfull beer. It's like this, You may have a bicyle, and a 500hp car - Both will transport you, but you know damn well which one is fun.

American lagers and pale ales are the shittiest of the bunch. corporations in, I think, the 20s began to market these beers as refreshing, smooth, and the staple of American beers. it's actually amazing how "lite" beers even came into existence, when really the basis of it all was how to make beer in the cheapest way possible

On a hot day, a cold bud is very pleasant to drink. Light beers are great depending on the situation. In a more swanky establishment, I’d go for a more flavoursome and crafty beer

If you've just moved to Colorado , Coors Light is recommended for your first beer. You know,altitude and all.

I go to school at Missouri S&T and the local gas stations give you 2 free packs of ramen if you buy a case of Natural Light
