I'm from the old school of listeners (1945 to 2022). Tommy Dorsey, Jimmy Dorsey, Glenn Miller, etc. have all entertained my love of music. My encounter with the piano began with my forced piano lessons and ended with my frustration over my inability to read music. Now, at the ripe old age of eighty-six I realize, finally, the beauty of piano music is lies not in the mechanics, but the fine tuning. I stumbled across Beegie Adair's renditions quite by accident. I'm glad I did. She plays with feelings, touch, and style. I'm sorry about her passing this year. She was a true artist. She belongs in the exclusive club of Thelonius Monk, Arthur Petersen, Erroll Garner, George Shearing, Dave Brubeck. Her sensitivity, touch and brilliance won't soon be forgotten.

I had the same experience of trying to learn piano, and being the son fo a fine classical pianist did not make it any easier. In this day and age I would be diagnosed as dyslexit. I do wish modern methods of teaching music had existed back then .

Add this to your Jackie Gleason and Andre Kostelanetz collection and that is all you need, sweet dreams, baby....

Very very sorry to hear of Ms Adair passing. My favorite jazz pianist ever. I’m same age as her. So glad for recordings so I can continue to listen to her performances.❤️

I began buying Beegie’s music while vacationing in Grand Marais, Minnesota. It’s perfect to listen to while watching waves, writing grant proposals, sitting in front of the fireplace, while eating dinner, as background music during parties, while driving long distance …. What a legacy she left us!

Beegie plays for all listeners, not just to impress other musicians. Her technique, sensitivity, ideas, and touch color every phrase, and respects the intended melody and feel for each piece. As a musician, I am totally impressed by her brilliance.

Beautiful piano, not easy to grasp listeners hours on listening to one artist performance, Beegie Adair has it, I have insisted on putting her music as back ground in all my restaurants! It goes for all ages!!!!

I love listening to her. She brings me back to the days of soothing music. She's wonderful!!!!!

I saw Beegie many times at Scotts in Nashville. I enjoy her recorded music, but she was three times as good live. She uses that "orchestra in her lap" for some fantastic improvisation. The closest to this is the NYC album. I am a very old jazz pianist and I considered her the best living jazz pianist (Gene Harris, Oscar with dirt under his fingernails is my all-time favorite). Most of her recordings feature Roger Spencer, Nashville's best bassist.

Beautiful tranquil and so so soothing.

There is magic in this lady's fingers: a beautiful touch, sublime tone and fertile imagination.

You make every song a masterpiece. My husband 's playing style was a combination Adair/Teddy wilson-

Beegie didn't play the piano....She made love to it, and the piano made love back to her. I have never heard another piano player in the world, have the soft and meaningful touch, that she had. There will never be another like her, I can listen to her for hours, day after day, and never get tired of her playing. I have said it before, and I'll say it again, when I get to Heaven, the first thing I am going to ask for is to be able to play the piano like Beegie Adair. God bless her, and I am sure the Lord asks her to play for Him often with her "Heavenly" touch. Thank you Beegie, for at least leaving us with a treasure trove of your music.
