The first being he was trying to divide and conquer the second it was a way for Cube to neutralize ese's from L.A. by giving them they're props and at the same time, minimizing any beef with them by stating the obvious "they're Cubans, not Mexicans" problem being that at the height of Mexican Americans gangs and they're street life "Cypress Hill" was are "go to" for music, our bread and butter so to speak! If it was rap it was "Cypress Hill" if it was anything else it was oldies.

I have liked Cypress Hill since I was little in Del Paso Heights in late 80s early 90s. Never liked Cube at all.
