You sound a lot better on this mouthpiece than the other alto mouthpiece I have heard you play on these videos. I think the only one I heard you play was the one that came with the horn (which Im sure is not that good). I really couldn't discern any real differences between the numerous tenor mouthpieces you reviewed. You are such a monster player, it seemed that you could play a garden hose on tenor and still sound great. LOL. But when I first heard you play alto, I said, "he doesn't sound as good as he usually does on tenor. I guess he doesn't play much alto." But then when you played that Beechler, the monster tone was back!

I have the 4 facing of the Bellite on alto and it's PERFECT. I actually ordered the 7 facing and they shipped the wrong 4 by accident. I tried it out and have loved it ever since. Plays awesome with a Legere Sig 2.5, though I probably could get away with a 2.25.

I’m so relieved you made this video. As a fan of Marienthal’s, I was able to have Beechler make me a Custom #7 Bellite replica of the 1980’s piece which players like Marienthal, Koz and even Brandon Fields used. I was having such a difficult time with this piece. I’ll now revisit the piece and try a #2 reed.

I blow an Alto Beechler Bellite. Started on cheapo Yamaha 4c, 6c, 7c. I went to shop to try a Berg Larsen s/s (Belgium) but not impressed, I have a 50 year old Berg (London) on my Mk VI tenor. Tried two Lawtons, better. Tried the Beechler - my wife (the ears) said fantastic. Only had a size 8 but loved and bought it. Not for a beginner, it's a wild beast and LOUD. Full on I don't need a mic. In the big band I have to rein it in a bit (a bit?). First few weeks my jaws ached but blows well with a Fribracell synth. Lig is good, also have a Rovner (Soprano size) it's a narrow piece.

Maybe you have some advice for me. I'm playing soprano and alto and for my alto I have a selmer goldentone and LOVE it. Also, I have rico metalite M7 for both sop and alto and graftonite B7(sop) A7(alto) and absolutely hate them both. They feel stuffy and really tight on both instruments. I also have a no name soprano mouthpiece I purchased used that feels open and has a baffle which makes me sound like Kenny G. I love the unknown brand for soprano for the open feel. Any suggestions for a really good OPEN/FREE blowing sop/alto mouthpiece(s). Money is not an option but I'm not one to pay extra for a brand name.

I blow an 8. Went for a seven but out of stock. Hard work at first, made my jaws ache for a few weeks but well worth it. Heard one in Tenerife seven years ago. We were in a town square with a wine when this clear sound came from the other side (Baker Street. Doh). Said I must see this so went into the nightclub. The guy showed me it - he spoke no English, I spoke no Spanish so that was it. Went to sax.uk to try a Berg Larsen (disappointing), three Lawtons (better) then the Beechler (wow!). A lady singer told me I sound like nobody else. Great! or was it? Anyway can play softly if you're very careful or ear splitting powerfull. Sometimes feels like trying to rein in a herd of wild stallions to hold it back! I want one for my tenor but funds are a bit short a.t.m. Not for a beginner.
