The BeeGees are an amazing group and dominated the music scene in the late 70s. They were also amazing songwriters writing many hits for other artists as well. They have 3 songs on the billboard top 100 of all time chart And They have written at least 5 songs on there as well. Amazing group definitely should check out more

You're right. The Bee Gees sing Staying Alive and their name stands for The Brothers Gibb. The one in the middle is oldest brother Barry Gibb. He's 77 and still performing to this day. The other two were twins, Robin and Maurice Gibb. They have both passed away unfortunately!

Sorry it does not stand for the brothers Gibb, like many people including me thought; it started Barry, his mom Barbara and his manger in one room, names with started with the letter B, this is how the name was born “The Bee Gees” rest is history!

The BeeGees were: the tallest and oldest brother (with the big hair and beard), Barry Gibb, born September 1, 1946, the only surviving Gibb brother. Oldest brother Barry got seriously burned when he accidentally pulled boiling tea over himself at 18 months old. He was in coma for a while, nearly died and was in hospital for many months. Because of this, he did not learn to talk until after the twins were born. Later the family moved to Manchester and from there they emigrated to Australia in 1958, right after Andy was born. All 4 brothers are just natural musical talents. All of them dropped out of high school in their early teens and none of them could read or write music. All their compositions were created completely organically. Their musical career, which they had started as little kids, didn't lead to international success so they moved back to the UK in 1967. Then they had a string of big hits, until they temporarily broke up around 1970 for 15 months. Started back up, looking for a new sound which they first found in 1974 with the transitional album "Mr. Natural". After that "Main Course" was the first album that moved them into a new direction: more rhythm&blues, dance music like with great hits like Nights on Broadway and Jive Talkin' (and was also actually the first album on which their logo was introduced). Kathy here - just found your channel. And in case no one has answered your question, yes, they sang Stayin Alive - they wrote the soundtrack for the movie. 3 brothers, one mic and no auto tune. Girl, you need to check out To Love Somebody. Great love song. Music that will never be duplicated. Sadly Barry, the lead singer, is the only brother left. Now, if you want to see a great performance, check out Tribute to the Bee Gees. Keith Urban performed To Love somebody, with Barry sitting in the audience, with his wife of over 50 years. Bestie I cant even tell you all their songs - if I tried to, I'd have to write over 1000+, which they wrote - many are some of the most iconic of all time. Yes, they are brothers & wait til you hear their little brother Andy also. Its just too much talent in one family. Unfortunately, Barry (in the center) has lost all 3 of his siblings.
