you should have been around in the 70's, man would you have had a good time in the disco's, dancing till sunrise, getting home, having a drink and a slice of toast and then go to work, boy did I do that so many times !!! good days !!!!!

I was only 10 in 1978 but I was a huge disco fan. I had a red portable cassette player and Bee Gees cassettes! ;)

I was a little kid in the 70s...I lived with my Uncle and Aunt, and oh man I remember my Uncle's Disco parties (he was a Doctor) and I would sneak & peek- the Adults had some serious Fun!

70's music, live concerts and the disco era was a delicious treat.

Travolta was already a teen heartthrob from starring in the hit sitcom "Welcome Back Kotter". When he did his first movie "Saturday Night Fever", he became a grown-up superstar.

Hard to believe Barry didn't do falsettos until around 1975. He's got one of the best normal voices around. What a super talent.

"Night Fever" brings the euphoric feeling of disco dancing to life by creating a song that brims with hooks. Those Bee Gees trademark falsetto, agile harmonies only add to a sky-high ear candy quotient of hip lyrics and infectious melody.

I'm going through your Bee Gees list again for like the 20th time. I love how truly happy their music makes you feel, and in turn your reactions make me happy also.

A smile a mile wide… I think this woman gets younger and younger with every old song she listens to…. The 60’sand 70’s were great for music… the advances in technology spurred on the creativity… the bands influenced and inspired each other with each new record… a great time to have been in my teens and 20’s

Brings back the good old days. Hanging down at the club 57 dancing two three hours. The sweat running down my face, my shirt would be soaking wet from sweating after dancing. The women my god the women never letting you rest in between songs. 🥳

I love everything the Bee Gees made from 1975 onward. Their work is a testament to how immigrants come to the USA, see and hear what's already going on (i.e. Motown and funk) and make cool culture for us. If they move on to Australia later, that's OK, they paid their dues to us.

The late great Maurice Gibb laying down that funky smooth baseline. He had a big role in the musical arrangements of their songs. Very underrated

That riding/driving feel is the disco beat. It was really great to listen to and also really easy to dance to (even if you weren't a good dancer).

Wow all of a sudden I'm 8 years old dancing around in my Aunt's house while she's blasting this on her 8 track tape imagine that.. Such great memories back then it really was a fun time to be a kid 🤔

One of the best beats ever! Whenever I’m on a walk and it comes on I get a little extra pep in my step. I love their Disco era songs but you should really check out some of their songs from the 60s and mid-70s. My suggestions would be: To Love Somebody (Barry) 67, I Started a Joke (Robin) 68 (Robin’s voice on this one is absolutely tearjerking), Fanny (Be Tender with My Love) (Barry, Robin, & Maurice) 75 (the harmonies on this one are amazing) and Nights on Broadway (Barry and Robin) 75 (one of my personal favorites). You mention "it gives you that "Stayin' Alive" feeling," and it's really true! Fun fact: When recording Stayin' Alive, the Bee Gees' drummer wasn't available. So, they found a suitable 2 bar drum loop from "Night Fever" and set it up to play on repeat on a separate tape machine. I believe that's the first recording to EVER use a drum loop, which of course is ubiquitous today.

They filled the world's dance floors with this!

When they were recording Staying Alive the drummer had to return to England because of his mothers health. The producers took a section of the drum beat from Night Fever and made loop to play with Staying Alive. If you listen to Staying Alive carefully you will notice that the drum beat is constant, it never changes throughout the entire song.

After Saturday Night Fever, you have to watch the sequel called Staying Alive. It's more set in the 80's and is directed by Sylvester Stallone. It's such a good 80's cheese fest with a yummy Travolta. His body was insane back then!

They filmed the dance school scenes on the corner of my block in Bensonhurst, all the girls from the neighborhood loved Travolta, us guys were jealous!

The interesting thing is The Bee Gees wrote all the songs except this one before the movie was created. The reason the soundtrack and movie gel is because the director rescripted the movie to fit the soundtrack. For those who were not around this movie was a cultural phenomenon…

"Saturday Night Fever" was the seminal movie of the disco era, though one could argue that it came at the end of that era (in the US - it might still be going on in Europe, depending on how you categorize their dance music). This wasn't the opening song of that movie ("Stayn' Alive" was) but it encapsulated the mood of the movie. The Bee Gees had a long career, spanning a couple decades. This, along with "Too Much Heaven," may have been their defining song(s).

Okay, this is more then a day late but I saw on some documentary that the reason you would get a "Staying Alive" feeling from "Night Fever" is because they didn't have a drummer for "Night Fever" so they took the drum beat from "Staying Alive". It was fun to watch because back then it was reel to reel so it was fun watching them piece it together.

I have to say this beautiful woman gets the feeling of the music so much. It's unbelievable because this was before our time and for her to get the feeling of the music because I 100% can relate to that. But the fact that she can relate to it is so amazing to me

Disco was some really cool music and times to live in and experience. It makes me happy to see and know that there are some younger people that are really diggin the tunes like we did back in the day.

Oh all of these songs are part of my music appreciation history. I was already an adult when they hit the scene but I loved them. I discovered later that at one point, before moving to Australia, they lived about a mile from me, they were about the same age as me but I never met them, to my knowledge.

I'm an Australian heavy/death metal fan and guitar player but this song is in most of my play lists. I was born in 1971 and my mum/mom bought me up on this 70's stuff....Musical talent is very much declining. Love how you love the bee gees :)

In the late 1990's my mates and I used to listen to Saturday night fever on record, have some beers and just chill. We were all skaters but this was our Friday night chill out.

Making Florida feel like Vegas or LA, the video was filmed on Motel Row" (Collins Avenue) in what is now Sunny Isles Beach, Florida.

Whoever told you that the whole soundtrack to the movie Saturday night fever was all the Bee Gees they were very incorrect yes the Bee Gees wrote the main soundtracks to the movie but there are several other really wonderful artists who have songs in this movie as well and I think when you see the movie you'll hear some of those other songs and understand why the Disco era was as popular as it was back then not just for the music but also for the fact that the music was made to dance to and back then the big thing were dance clubs you could go out and have a good time to dance club get a drink or two and you know spend time with your friends and do your thing.
