The 1:25 part is Barry and Robin simultaneously. The dueling falsettos at the end between Barry and Robin is great, each one going higher. Maurice could sing falsetto or even low baritone. He had a great range and filled in any holes in the harmony. Although all had unique voices the familial tone often made it hard to distinguish who was singing what and they often sang at the same time.

There is quite a story with these guys, you should look into it. The way I remember it, I hung out with kind of a rough crowd, and NO ONE admitted to listening to the BeeGees but when you were in the car, and their songs came on the radio, EVERYONE knew their songs. There was a point when they were so hated they couldn't show their faces in public, but they were still writing songs for other people and having #1 hits. They were kind of held responsible for killing Rock and Roll and bringing on Disco. They wrote and performed most of the songs on the Saturday Night Fever soundtrack, but at the time they were holed up in a secluded spot writing and recording and had no idea how popular the movie and soundtrack were until later. It's all very interesting and worth a little research.

From falsetto/head voice down to chest voice/normal range, then back and forth, takes practice. Many men cannot get as high a falsetto as Barry can get and his brothers can get nearly as high. And when they sing in different combinations they sound like a whole another person. They don't often sing this song in concert because of the difficulty. They got labeled disco and their music didn't get played in the early 80s at all which is why they produced and wrote for others.

In my top 3, easily. Thank you for the great pleasure of witnessing your sincere astonishment!! Maurice tells the us the source of the name "Fanny." They were staying in the same rental house on Ocean Boulevarde that RSO/Atlantic got for Eric Clapton months earlier. He famously urged the Bee Gees to move to the US to Miami for the fnatastic creative vibes the locale gave him. The BGs were going nowhere in England, so when they first moved to Miami to record at Criterion Studios, they stayed at that house. Their hired housekeeper named "Fanny" walked by their workroom, near the moment Maurice had asked Barry and Robin if putting a woman's name in the song would make it even better. Fanny was the lucky woman immortalized in song! The rest of the story went on (not from Maurice) that when the brothers finished with the song's demo, they played it for Fanny and she cried. BTW, Fanny passed away fairly recently, still famous for that honor.

P.s. they themselves didn't have country hits, but they wrote come on over that olivia newton john had a hit with, Conway Twitty took their song rest your love on me to #1, and they wrote islands in the stream for Kenny Roger's and dolly Parton. Barry performed at the grand ol opre after Robin died, and barry did the album greenfield, with country stars covering a bunch of bee gees hits, so country has been pretty accepting of them.

You should listen to their pre-disco songs from the 60s. Just as good but different. They were always talented.

The harmonies in this are unbelievable and it's possible this is my favorite Bee Gees song ever...and that's saying something. BTW...they wrote all their songs too. Good to see you enjoying them so much!

I just have to say: I just saw you listening to “ Fanny”, by the amazing Bee Gees! This was the time when I met my husband. I was crazy about The Bee Gees, & always will be. After 43 years of marriage, my darling husband just died, of pancreatic cancer. So, I’m sitting here & watching you & listening to “Fanny”, & I’m crying & crying! So beautiful! They were great!

You really need to listen to some of the songs where Robin is the lead vocalist, like I Started a Joke. Those were very interesting and somewhat sad.
