If you do decide to put anything above the bench I would suggest maybe adding a mirror. I think the reflection would make the room appear even larger.

Oh my goodness!!!!!!!!!! Evelyn!!!!! This room is just so gorgeous! I am so in love with the way it all turned out. The paint color is so beautiful. I want to paint a project with this color. I love how the black side tables pop with the color. I am such a fan of Castlery furniture too and I think you picked such a perfect bed for this space.
