Becoming Immune from the Balloon

Apologies for the echo in this video. The sound system was mad...
But anyways, in this naseehah, the harms of drugs are mentioned as well as some things that we can do as a community to help start working towards solving these issues.
Towards the end there are a couple of questions that are answered too, InshaAllah you benefit.

I really enjoyed this lecture shiekh. I hope you keep guys keep them up. Would be good to do a live Q and A one day In sha Allah. Crawley is lovely area when I lived there for a few years. Muslims are strong and it’s a peaceful town. There is the jahhil side but unfortunately we have to understand that the youth have to go through this as it’s part of growing up in the uk. Very few are saved from it.

Sheikh I want to thank you, from the bottom of my heart, because you are addressing issues, which are affecting the Muslim ummah and community in the U.K. Most Imams up and down the country ignore the issues, which our community has and brush them under the carpet, until the negative impact is seen and people’s lives are ruined. For decades in our community forced marriages were taking place and our Imams and Mufti were silent and did not speak out on this issue. How many lives have been ruined and scarred due to this. Parents are also to blame, for following their culture, over their religion and some parents knew it was wrong and still went ahead to please their relatives and for their ego boost. When the divorce statistics came out, then there was shook from the Imams, how come there is a high rate of divorce in our community? The answer because you were conducting Nikah of forced marriages and not speaking out and guiding the parents, to not to force their children. People think girls were just forced into marriages, but young men were also forced, by emotional blackmail from their own parents. Their lives got ruined and tarnished by their own parents and afterwards the parents say, we only did what we thought to be right and we wanted the best for you. The icing on the cake is, blame it on destiny not our fault. This is the mentality of some parents, when it comes to their own children. You have to extremes in our community, you have the parents who are harsh on their children and show no love or mercy and then you have the other group who set no boundaries at all and spoil their children rotten. Islam has given us the middle way, yet we ignore this and follow the two extremes. Drugs issue in our community have been ignored for many years, another issue brushed under the carpet. It is only until 2009 or so, this issue was addressed by Imam Asim Hussain. Most of the other Imams stayed quiet on this issue. Now we have the issue of vapes and balloons in our community and Imams are quiet on this issue not all Imams. Our sisters are also involved in these issues, such as vaping, doing balloons, shisha etc. For the past 20 years or so,the sisters have taken off the head covering, not all but a good majority have and no Imams address this issue with their community. Sisters are smoking cigarettes and we are silent on this, they are committing zina we are quiet, they are wearing provocative clothing and showing their bodies, like the non believing women and we are quiet on this, both the Imams and the parents are to blame for this. Muslim sisters have male friends, who are both Muslim and not Muslim ones. Both in the work place, schools, colleges, universities and social media. This is a big fitna and we as community need to address these serious issues, especially the Imams of mosques up and down the U.K. I am sorry for the rant, but it had to be said and once again thanks Sheikh for your efforts. Allah reward you abundantly in this life and in the hereafter. Ameen.
