Thank you! I enjoy meeting you and have learned already a bit about where to start. I have always shed away from being a pro artist as a solo income because it is so intimidating, and has always sounded hard to make realistic. But I appreciate your go-for-it attitude and I can see it being actually possible for myself because you are sharing your journey. Wishing you many blessings!

Lots of good tips here! I'm just starting out selling my art. Mostly watercolor prints and originals right now. I kind of bounce around with subjects and styles. I do it because it's my passion and I'm not worried about becoming rich off of it. As long as I can create and pay my bills I'm good.

I've only just started. I've always loved art but I never thought I would ever be good at it. I started a few sketches last week and people close to me like friends and family, love them. I want to start painting, I would love to create something beautiful and have it go out in the world and brighten up someone's life. I don't know if I'll ever be good enough to make a career out of it, I would also feel scared and for lack of a better term, embarrassed I guess to ask money for anything I end up creating.. But I do hope to continue enjoying the process and just getting better as I go along. I've watched most of your tutorials and just love the way you approach each piece, it's like each one has a special meaning to you and that's amazing to watch. Thanks for sharing with us. x

Just discovered you! Where have I been?? Your work is alive and vibrant. Your Peony touches me in such an inspiring way. Haven't painted in 25 years and have picked it back up only a year ago. It's so encouraging to know the seed is still there, it just needed to be watered again!!!! Your sincerity as an artist comes through and watered my garden too!

Art is a brand new thing in my life. Just two months ago I bought some pencils and some paints and started playing. I have had a great time, ruined a lot of paper, a few canvases and run through my first complete tube of paint (titanium white of course). By reading a lot, watching the videos posted by yourself and some other artists, I have learned so much! I don't know if my work will ever be good enough to sell - that would be lovely of course- but the pleasure I take in the creation is intensely rewarding. Thank you for your generosity in posting tutorials from which absolute beginners such as myself can learn and gain confidence.

As soon as I saw your tutorial on ocean painting, I fell in love with your technique, your personality, style etc. And i absolutely love the colors you use! Did you teach yourself how to paint or did you go to school for it?

Thanks for the video, Katie. I am one of those people who is just interested in everything, and would get bored doing the same thing all the time. My art is inspired by a number of different things, and I work in lino, acrylics and oils. If I had to choose one way of working to create a 'brand', I'm not sure yet which way I would go! I wonder if and when I'll have to make that decision. Love all your sites, and check them out quite regularly. :)

I totally understand exactly what you mean. I still feel as though I'm working on my brand and feel it takes years. I seem to work in collections now which has helped bring meaning and structure to all my works, as each collection has a theme. It just helps people understand what you're trying to 'say' as an artist. Thank you Sarah, hope you're keeping well x

I've just started experimenting with other techniques I've seen other artists use. I love oil painting and trying to develop it with other things I want to try. Making videos showing that process now! Although, the resolution on the last video wasn't great. Don't know if you, or Katie, or anyone can suggest how to improve it?! It's very annoying when you've put all that effort in into making a KZread video, then once you've uploaded it the picture quality isn't great. :(
