Hiked on Saturday, May 11th. The road up was clear of snow or debris. While a high clearance vehicle is advisable, 2WD is feasible. The trailhead accommodates about 15-20 vehicles, no pass required, and facilities are open.
It's advisable to carry a GPS. Approximately 1.75 miles in, snow begins, and the trail becomes a bit challenging to locate. I found having the GPS handy invaluable for confirming the route.
As you ascend, the snow becomes steeper. I recommend using spikes and poles for added traction and stability.
The views from the summit are simply breathtaking!
As of now, no issues with insects.
