This man is a perfect example of passion of playing football- no matter at which club he played for, he always gave 120% and played for the love of the game. no wonder he's tearing up in his final game. if only players nowadays had half the passion and love for the game as beckham did- never mind the quality.

One of the most important moment in football history..

Even though he had retired 3 years ago we all still thank David for always trying his best and never giving up on whatever happened.

i am a gunner fan but i have always admired the way becks has conducted himself in the public eye such a positive role model viva la beckham cool guy

It was sad to watch him go. He was the best and always will be.

Absolute Hero. Words cannot describe the respect I have for DB. Followed his whole career on and off the pitch, to some extent, and what a special person he is. He makes you feel proud to be human. I love that he just sits down beside the pitch after leaving and is just laughing from the emotion , after crying. Doesn't want to leave. I really don't have too many hero's, if anyone, but DB is as close to one as you can get imo. If you didn't witness it at the time it's impossible to understand. But that guy was dragged through it by the world press, not just ours. And he responded by doing nothing, by being a bigger man and forgetting about all the shit and just focusing on the right things constantly. Legend.

David is such a great guy. I met him in paris once and he insisted to pay for my dinner. he also wanted to pay my college loan, but I said "hey david, I cant I accept it really, but thanks" and when I saw he got emotional because of that I decided to let him pay it cause I didnt want to break his golden heart.

2013 was the year that the class of 92 legends retired, Paul Scholes (again), David Beckham and Phil Neville (although Phil Neville was not a legend). The man who brought those three young players up the great Sir Alex Ferguson also retired in 2013.

referee deserves huge credit here for not being a moody fucker and lettin beckham receive the long sendoff he deserved... even the referee has respect for beckham, great to see :) no one usually gets to stay that long on the pitch and get away with it :)

I think the coach after mclaren dropped him, and ik capello didn't want him in the 2010 squad, I also remember madrid begged him to stay, and sir alex mentioned in his bio that he was "furious" that becks was going into retirement mode at age 30-31 saying that "this is the height of his career, wth is he doing?"

In every single country, including my country India, he is seen as a Legend. In America however, he is more or a legendary underwear model.

I don't think many people put Beckham up there with likes of Zidane, Ronaldo, Ronaldinho and co, but there's a beauty and swagger to his game that you just can't help but respect and love. I also can't think of a more accurate passer of the ball. Perhaps Scholes had an equal range on him, but no one could (do forgive me...) "bend it like Beckham". PS. His free kicks weren't too bad either.

So lucky we are in France with David and Jonny. This two geniuses gave us their last moments on the field...

He came back from 98, led England as a gallant captain. Yes, there were limitations to his game, he didn't had dazzling dribbles or pace but he always threw his heart out for his team, for the game of football.
