Becker Mushroom Cave: St. Paul's Greatest Fallout Shelter

Becker Mushroom Cave was the largest mushroom cave in St. Paul, Minn. Dug about 1900, sealed in 1991 until being temporarily reopened in the great wave of digging that followed the 2009 publication of the book SUBTERRANEAN TWIN CITIES. This video tour, cast in the form of a "pilgrimage" to the shrine at the innermost recess of the cave, briefly explains the history of the cave, which is currently closed to the general public.
