My wife said she was going to leave me if I didn't stop listening to this song. Long story short, she got the house, car and custody of the kid. But I got two turntables and a microphone, so it's all good.

I did not appreciate Beck's subversive sound and videos as a child but I do now. This guy was taking the fork in the road in the 90s and I respect him for it. The music is timeless.

Beck is one of the most talented musicians. Ever. He goes into every corner, dusts things off, and brings them out into the light and re-introduces us to sounds, sights and motions we forgot about for awhile. This is great. And seriously, how many styles can one song have?
This song will always have a special place in my heart and ears. In 1997 I volunteered at my local college radio station, this was always the first song I'd play every shift. Being a small and falling apart station we were equipped with, you guessed it, two turntables and a microphone. And a CD player, but that's irrelevant to the story 😁

My favorite Beck song! The line dancing in the video was great!
true story, beck deserved it. Everyone always wants the poo star or the more famous name to win...but if you actually listened to the albums of all the artists. Beck was the best. I'm glad the Grammy's aren't the VMAs... Daft punk, arcade fire would never win album of the year at the VMAs. Kanye storming the stage was a joke. Look, Beyonce has accomplished a lot. Beck has been a solo act for the better part of three decades and writes all his stuff...Beyonce has needed 4 vocalists, countless songwriters and a marriage to one of the greatest rappers ever to enjoy moderate success. "That was a good drum break....." As with everything Beck there are always open ends and zero relevancy. It's actually therapeutic for me because I feel like I'm flushing all the junk out of my brain and it's void of thought (and refreshed) at the end of each of his videos. I always laughed at the segment of Beck looking befuddled during the middle hook where his two alter egos morph out of him. He looks genuinely perplexed with this 'what was I doing here?' expression.
Ray Manzarek would definitely approve!
I've heard of Beck for most of my life. I used to travel with a band years ago. But, long story short, I just realized that, to my own peril, I've been missing out! Start the groove with a Fender Rhodes? Oh, I'm hoppin' on that ride!!! Sweet!
Beck does has the coolest line in song: I have two two turntables and a microphone. Where it's at? I want to see them for sure! I just love that line for sure! Does put a smile on my face all the time!
Producer: "Okay, Beck, what genre do you want this song to be?" Beck: "Yes."
I'll never forget the looks on all the faces at the 2014 Grammys when he beat out Beyoncé, Ed Sheeran, Sam Smith and Pharrell for Album of the Year. 'Stunned' is an understatement. 😅😅😅
I’ve heard this song at least 100 times in the last year and I still love it. Beck is a musical genius.
I can't believe I've never heard of Beck until after he released Morning Phase, and he's been around longer than I've been alive! (I'm 19). What Kanye did at the Grammys certainly wasn't right, and trust me, I'm a HUGE Kanye stan, but I'll go as far as to say that what he said about art wasn't true. Beck certainly deserved that award for the amount of work he puts into his albums. One guy doing virtually everything. Production, instrumentation, songwriting, mixing, everything. And I love Beyonce as well, but she has tons of songwriters, tons of producers, back-up singers, the works. That doesn't make her any less of a great artist, nor does it make Kanye any less of a great artist. He's a very decent MC, and an INCREDIBLE producer. He's just very opinionated, for better or worse.
This. Never. Gets. Old.

There was a legend that it did once and then they just brought in more chicks and everything was cool
I use the phrase "2 turntable and a microphone" whenever I get the chance in daily life, very few know what I'm talking about..
I miss Beck being mainstream man, he was just a different vibing type of dude.
Beck is a legend. He is brilliant.

Same here. Whenever it pops into my head it makes me laugh. I can't think of many songs which contain lyrics reviewing the previous few seconds of music 😂
懐かしい❤ 久しぶりにBECK祭りしよかな🙌
With many incredible videos by Beck this one is still my fave! Just find this video so entertaining!
Beck recorded some of the best music ever during the '90's. This song is no exception!
never liked him when he first came out...until I really really listened to his whole albums. dude is a musical genius.
Another ICONIC Beck song!
Amo! 🧡
This was a hit when I graduated high school over 20 years ago. My son is going to cross that hallowed threshold in a few years...cannot help but think he and his friends would be just as in love with it as I was back then, if it were to be released in 2021.

Yep. That whole album is chock full of them. His live bands did a great job pulling it off. Have to give them credit.

I was 5 when this song played on MTV. I feel so cool to have been apart of MTV when it was about music... brings good memories back to me. A smile I need.....
The sound Mix in this song is absolutely and madly awesome! Thank you very much, Beck!
I was born in the hip hop area but I remembered Beck when I was only 5. Both are my parents made me listen to bunch of music of all genres because they were Music teachers. I am really proud that my parents made me listen to all instead of just one genre because it brings great artist true histories of music. You know some people rasied listen to one or few genres that makes it was popular. It's not just age its how we raised ourselves not experience of different music artist. My grandmother 82 listen to Blues and Jazz and she told me at her young age don't know who's Elvis Presley was....I know sounded crazy right?
God this is super nostalgic. I grew up listening to beck. Probably why my mind is fucked.
Beck is so creative, at the time this came out nothing looked like this. He was/is miles beyond with his visual presentation. Love it. Love it the first time I saw it on MTV when it came out, happened upon it tonight and it still strikes me. Awesome.
Beck had that feel good music. Keep playing it!!
this song is so funky it even makes line dancing look fun LOL!
