Beavers cant stand the sound of running water. It compels them to build!

Fun fact! The reason beavers get so freaked out by the sound of running water is that they have an underwater section of their lodge that is filled with food. In the winter, the surface layer of water freezes letting the food get refrigerated and the only way to get to it be through the lodge. So when beavers hear running water it’s not “Oh shit, my house” it’s “Oh shit, the fridge”

@@Blaze-kf3dswell slapping a remote or other electronic could easily move debris or put an out of place piece back into place making said item work again, humans wouldn't instinctively hit and smack things to make them work if it didn't work so often, how many people blew into cartridges to make them work even tho they eventually put "don't blow into cartridge" on them? Those people do it because it's worked before and people continue doing it because they know people who did it and had it work or tried it themselves

and i know why! it's because it means that there's a leak somewhere in their dam, and a leak means that not only is their den (whose entrance is underwater) is compromised, but also that their food stock for the winter is too! See, they feed on fresh leaves, and there's none of that in winter. So, they'll make a reserve at the bottom of the lake their dam forms, where the cold water will keep their food fresh during the winter months. Whenever they're hungry, they just slip out of their den into the ice covered lake and go have a snack! So their reaction to running water is less of a "oh shit my house" and is more of a "oh shit the fridge"!
