Great video. No politics, no religion. Just what I wanted to see, a dam busting. If the beaver is still around, the dam will return. I liked the over grown nature of the area. Very calming.

A beaver will rebuild the entire dam in just 12 hours. They really are amazing animals. What ever you do to a dam, come back the next day and the dam will be rebuilt.

I use the 1” by 6’ metal construction pry bar… works like a charm. Almost that time of year for us too… I wanna drive on back and empty it out before winter to slow them down a little…. Put a solar powered radio there and leave it on.

You just gave the beavers something to do tonight. They should be able to make a good first cut at a dam that small in one night.

A potato rake works great. It has 4 tongs.

That road downstream seems to be an issue and a bottleneck. Whatever culvert is under it, it just isn't handling that amount of water well enough. Maybe you should look at it too if it isn't blocked after it drains more.

I think you should clear those culverts a little because the water is very slow moving on one side and hardly moving on the other side of the road.

Water flows thru the pipes well. In The other side of the road stream is the same. So problem is not with the pipes obviously. But yea, ditch should be cleaned anyway.

Yes. That is their lodge. They won't have far to go to start fixing the dam.

If you really want to slow them down, then remove the base of the dam. Maybe clearing the front of the dam (the low side) first partially, then loosen up the high part and work the silt on the deep part before letting the water go, you can use the current to take that silt down stream better. If there are multiple dams, work the down stream dams first, so you don’t keep flooding the area and depositing so much debris along the way because there isn’t a good current. Post 10 taught me that.

@@Kenislovas My bad, I can't see the description on mobile, it doesn't show. Honestly, I cannot understand what you are trying to say by "Nearby this dam there are fence where living various pets. When i filmed they were in their house, so they are not involved in video unfortunately." Nearby my house there are several other houses with fences and walls around them, should I demolish my home now? From your video the dam posed no danger. Maybe if it was deeper (double the wall height) it may have raised the river to a level where it may cause a problem long term. I still don't get why you needed to break the dam.

Ground where pets are walking there are a lot of wet mud, so half of the area is not in use. Other things that fishes cannot pass the dam. Behind the dam there are many fields, where ground is wet too, so Harvest grains etc. getting more difficult.

@@Kenislovas from a little dam in a ditch? Really? And the rain had nothing to do with the ground being wet? No one harvests grains in the wet season. Be honest, you just felt like breaking the dam for the hell of it. If the people who wanted to "harvest their grains" wanted the dam gone they would have done it themselves. Beaver dams are part of nature, your excuse about the fish is invalid. If the river only flowed 20cm deep to start with, what fish would have needed to get past where the dam is?

When I opened dam, there was many of fishes. They asked me to assist :) Now it's time to harvest grains, dfq look at calendar dude. A lot of things is part of nature. but there are a lot of things which is harmful too! BTW, In our Country we must regulate population of beavers, because there are too many of them. I feel that need to close this discussion.

The beavers, now homeless. Couldn't be reached for comment.

Beavers like Coyots,Pigs...No good for so many reasons,legal to shoot them?
