Ya Shiekh. I'm memorised the Quran when I was 16. I'm now 33. I never mastered the art of beautiful recitation. I had given up completely and I've also stopped leading Taraweeh for the past 5 years due to self confidence issues. Your video has given me some hope. Remember me in your duas.

When you lead prayers, focus on the meaning and sharing the meaning through your voice with the congregation rather than just focusing on how nice it sounds. ‏سلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته Personally, I prefer imams that recite smooth and clear over ones that alter their voices to sound more beautiful. Allah love those that beautify their voices when they recite the Quran but don’t define beauty as only sounding nice.

Mashallah, I really appreciate this video. I can recite the Quran with good tajweed and good makhraj but people said my voice is "bad" and "toneless". Thank you, ustadz. The Quran shouldn't be recited like singing a song, but to be read, memorized, understood, and practiced in our life.

yeah I laughed too.. but thought what a horrible person to say that, this is not the way to talk to a brat let alone a kids who was eagerly wants to learn.

Al Fatiha in my next Salah felt completely different. Even just saying AllahuAkbar felt transformative.

I m learning just now how to read Quran in Arabic. I always thought you have to have an amazing voice for recitation and I was sad thinking I can never do it, but my soul melt when i hear someone recitate so beautiful SubhanAllah. You telling me I can recitate Quran one day beautiful without having beautiful voice sound as a singer, this just made my day thank you may Allah bless you.
