In the US we'd refer to this as a "lock and leave". Perfect to come and go as you please with minimal upkeep plus relaxing land to enjoy that's been improved. Walking distance to a secluded river beach is a slice of heaven. Great for an Airbnb when you aren't there and no work to be done. Really sweet little place.

Tiny houses usually make me feel claustrophobic but this one just about gets away with it with the lovely high ceilings and the beautiful open views, and the sense of a bit of life around without being hemmed in. The land has a really lovely feel to it too - like a private country park. I can't quite find it justifiable that they're all priced in the same bracket as "proper" houses that are much more suited to year round living though. It feels like they're priced according to how instagrammable they are.

I saw a heating device in the bedroom. When I was to live there, I would turn the bedroom into a livingroom and somehow make a bedroom downstairs ( maybe just a partitionwall) where it is cooler anyway.

How do you know when a septic tank needs emptying?

Usually when you live in a house with a septic tank you know when it's about to be full and you just go ahead and empty it every so many years. But until you can figure that out. Usually when it is full your toilet will back up and you'll start smelling stuff. But once you get it cleaned then you would ask the person cleaning it. How long before I need to do it again? Or you can kind of figure it out when you're there

Hello, good afternoon. The septic tank has an automatic system, which emits an audible signal that warns you, for example, a few weeks before the tank reaches its limit, so that you have time to call the company that flushes it. It's an excellent system and very functional.

I don't understand and they leave the area like that open and no one enters??!!

Portugal has become too extravagant. They try to take advantage of any small house, even if it only has walls, and renovate it and sell it for a small fortune. They try to take advantage of everything to make money, no matter where it is and what condition it is in, and just renovate and sell. That's why nowadays there are thousands of real estate agencies in such a small country as Portugal. money, money that's what matters. There are tastes for everything, but this one has crossed the line. what a hopeless house.

Nice tour, unfortunately the house number is foreshadowing bad luck, sorry I'm super superstitious ever since my next door neighbors (No. 13, too) threatened to kill my cat by running over it with their car. Loved the proximity to the river beach(es). Except for the house, this village with its 2 halves looks adorable.

So many deficiencies here. No apparent parking, no laundry equipment, no mention of heating or AC, no storage, no bedroom wardrobe, and a very small living space in that kitchen/dining/lounge area. The “garden” area near the river is magical, but so detached from the house that it’s not of much use except during summer. I can see why this home was mainly utilized as a summer retreat. Also, those plywood-looking ceilings might constitute a formaldehyde exposure risk.

It's OSB or Sterling board, it's quite safe but I don't like it as a feature personally. This was also sealed as far as I can see. Thanks for your input though, it's appreciated 👍

I’m beginning to think that in videos of Portuguese real estate, dedicated parking space isn’t mentioned when none exists. Which is unfortunate, since rural living would in most cases necessitate owning a vehicle.

However, if necessary, it is possible to park more than one car in the area of land that belongs to the property and that you can see in the video. Remember that the land is over 1,000 square meters.

Dear @gee3883 all opinions are welcome, and all opinions are valid, however, regarding the use of space, I can assure you that if you had known this house before the renovation, I'm sure you would have said exactly the opposite regarding the use of space and the architectural work carried out. The house is now spacious, bright and not at all claustrophobic. The opposite solution would be to subdivide the existing spaces even further, creating more rooms, but that would certainly make the whole space claustrophobic. The architectural choices that were made were always aimed at making all the spaces large, with high ceilings, bright, airy and functional.

It's hard to tell unless you've been there but there seems a lot of ceiling space that could be used for habitable rooms. Anyway thanks for the tour folks without these vids us viewers wouldn't be able to get any idea of what's on the market.

Hello dear @evanelten thanks for your comment and opinion. As we explained in another comment on this video, I can assure you that the wood used in this house is of excellent quality. Regarding the fact that the house is small, as we also explained in another comment, when you carry out a total restoration of a house you have to make choices and I can assure you that in this case everything was done to optimize all the available space as much as possible. Of course, it's normal for everyone's opinions and needs to be different. We could have opted, for example, to create another room on the bedroom floor, but that would have made the space more claustrophobic. These are choices that are made according to everyone's tastes and needs....

@@destino2portugal So if the ruin was purchased at 8,000€, 20,000€-30,000€ in renovation...🤔😉⚒️ It would be a totally different negotiation than if the ruin went for 15,000€ and the put in 40,000€ to 60,000€ in renovation 🤔😲😱⚒️😉 Did you think there was 40,000€ to 60,000€ in renovation? 🤔😉 The market will decide the price of the property. So if a foreigner comes in does no research a little negotiation...then that pricing was correct. But if someone does their research negotiates harder and armed with the right information and buys it for 80,000€ then that becomes the market value 😳😁😉🤔👍 right?
