Check out our independent guide to Sydney's best swimming spots.

North Sydney swimming pool is an excellent place to begin this new series on Sydney's most beautiful swimming spots. Opened in 1936 in the shadow of both Sydney Harbour Bridge and Luna Park, it's in great visual company. It's a piece of outstanding art-deco pool design and was used in the Empire Games in 1938 and 1958.

Great vid Mark... Foresight in infrastructure.. Absolutely with the pool and the bridge, but don't forget that the bridge was built with train tracks on the western side (still there) but also tram tracks on the eastern side, removed to increase the capacity of the "road bridge"... That said, still and impressive piece of for sight Glad you are on the mend.... HCM city and the Cafe will be there when you get a chance to get back.... Hope you enjoy your time and stay safe and happy in Sydney

Great vlog and great to see you.... I worked in Milsons Point 1983-88... At the bowling club... Great area... Full of characters... The Rest Hotel was rockin...best of times...... I forgot... At the pool I once saw a big argument between Brett Whitely and pool management... Brett wanted to wear cut off denim shorts in... Management said nah ... Togs..

Great to see you're better in a sunny Sydney scene The Empire Games, a better word, amusing & accurate at the same time for Commonwealth. Wealth is the least thing in common. Indeed, many claim that we, as human being, have made continuous advantage on all fronts, we're more prosperous now. Hv, a bridge built nearly a century ago is better than nowadays, not only for its engineering achievement but also its elegance. Together with the Opera House, perhaps, there is no parallel quality in recent public infrastructure buildings.

Did one some time ago. But need to go back. Probably Marrickville and Bankstown too.
