He filmed everything in Palau Ocean, no scene is taken in the studio. Everything is fully him in the ocean, and no CG backgrounds. He trained to be an advanced diver to do this. Singing underwater and playing guitar underwater, wearing weights so he can sink. while camera rolling, another diver was holding his regulator and brought it to him when he became out of breath. His main instruments are guitar and then piano. His father is also a well known folk singer in Korea. He went to Howon university for undergrad together with Changsub for Practical Vocal, then recently finished his grad degree related to composing I believe. Below is a comment I left for someone else's reaction but I thought it might be beneficial for you as well so have a read?? if you have time! Hyunsik specifically said to listen to this album on repeat in a continuous cycle, just like how the tides rise and fall, and imagine sinking deep into the sea and rising above toward the light again. He also tried to show the Contrast (Brightness) with the order he put in this album. So technically, tracks 1,2,3 are dark, and 4,5,6 are light, with Swimming being the brightest and Deep Blue See being the darkest. So by continuously listening to this album, it is in a continuous gradual cycle going from brightness to darkness.(rising up to surface, sinking down into deep sea). It kind of reminds me of the wavelength graphs or radio wavelength, or like sine cosine graph lol. It can compare to our lives, rising and falling moments. As for MV, although there's a general understanding of how things look like, I think Hyunsik wants to leave a bit of open interpretation. But, the man with long hair could not breathe without watertank at first and then at the end, with the light from the other hyunsik, he is now able to breathe air. He has a huge interest in Ocean/Sea, and also Space/Universe. His last album was focused on Space and the universe. And in that MV he tried to portray the idea of "Quantum Entanglement". Im not sure if you are familiar with the idea but, I think(in my opinion) portraying two different Hyunsik and the light (representing love hope ) in LA MAR also has some relation to the previous album.(DEAR LOVE- Rendez-Vous). It also talks about relationship with oneself, doing a deep dive into themselves in this album, not just relationship with another person. Oh and the word "고독" actually means Solitude rather than lonely. It definitely has a stronger meaning. Im not sure how I should end this comment lol I went on so much but like you said Hyunsik makes amazing music and deep emotions thought, and extremely underrated.

Lim Hyunsik is the musical mastermind behind many songs from BTOB, writing and producing. He plays several instruments, the guitar is one of them. His father is a well known musician in South Korea too.

Thank you for reacting to this. Yes, La Mar means the sea. And Hyunsik loves the sea so much that he enjoys deep diving every now and then. He is also all the characters in the mv and he really plays the electric guitar so well. This mv was shot on the island of Palau..somewhere in Micronesia I believe. For me, I think the mv speaks of him losing himself or his goal.sinking deeper, getting darker, getting weaker and almost losing hope. But in the end, finding the light..finding the essence..the very thing he's looking for and gaining strength andeill and the purpose to live again. It's like loving yoursef and overcoming your inner struggles. That's how I see it. 😊

Thank you for reacting to BTOB Hyunsik’s 2nd solo. The mv cinematography is just chef’s kiss… as to be expected from the group’s aesthetic IG king. 😁 He has a diving license, and he film this mv in the Philippines where he go diving in his down time.
