I can not wipe the smile off my face seeing that your building was made right 100%. Finally. Very sorry to hear about your fall off the ladder. That’s one of my greatest fears after I installed a metal roof on my 8’x12’ wood shed last summer. Never again. Reece was such a great help with the painting; and such a cute painter❤. She is building beautiful memories with her daddy❤️❤️❤️

Oh yea ladders can bite you back! Yikes was a good reminder. She’s the best help around!
This is the update we needed! Thank God they fixed the building 🍻
Your painting of the ceiling was mad impressive. I say this as someone who just painted an 8 thousand sq ft. barn with a small hand sprayer. Turns out your method is waaay better.

Graeme! FANTASTIC video and outcome. I’m so glad they metal company made it right. So happy for you and your team. Now rest those knees and stay safe! We need these videos in our lives. 🙏🏻
Holy Woodness Childlaborness! I love that your architect is so helpful around the shop! She needs a bonus, brother. The shop is really taking shape and looks almost ready to start detailing. Boy, o boy, that magic wand sure did the trick to speed things up, huh? Looking good, brother, and keep getting after it big G.
YESSSS! Good for you Graham, happy it worked out, looking great! Can’t wait to see more progress, and thanks again for sharing.
Looks great! So glad it is all working out after all you went through. Thanks for the update.
Great work! Loving all the projects and your little helper ❤
Looks amazing! Your little helper is remarkably paint free… 😁
Oh wow Graham! You certainly have your hands full with projects. And thank goodness your knee injuries weren’t more serious. (I’ve had 2 brand new knees in the last 5 months, so I know how awkward life can be with healing knees.) Who knew ladders could be so dangerous. You know Graham, I don’t even know you (personally), and yet I’m so incredibly proud of what you’ve achieved and how you conduct yourself. Kudos to you my young friend. You’re definitely a solid young man. Sending lots of positive vibes and a big hug from Australia. Take care. 👏🏻🇦🇺🦘

Libby, thank you for all your kind words and support. You are one of those whom I think of when it comes to those who encourage me. Thank you thank you thank you!
The building is looking great! I’m glad they made it right! The color match screws really finish it off !

He could have ordered color matched screws when he ordered the building. It is an option. Does make for some extended video but it was a mistake not to order it when he had the building built. Would have saved both money and time. I know I have had a building built. I ordered colored screws and used 3 different colors in the build.
Now you've got me wondering, since I'm in the Richmond area, and am looking to do a metal building.... gotta look out for the rough builders. Great to know about the spray foam group though!!
Your shop looks great, Good luck with everything.
Nice! You are a few steps ahead of my shop build. It looks great!
love the new opening much more exciting and the building is beautiful
Love that new intro. Seems that in general things have been going better than they were a couple of months ago. The building is looking great, your doing an awesome job! Get better!
Love to see the updates and that the garage is finally coming together. From the stories you have told it is clear the business and garage have a much deeper meaning. I love that you show what its like trying to do these projects while being a father and showing that life may get hectic and projects may sit on the back burner but that being persistent and going back to the projects they will eventually get done. As a father of a 3 under 3 (2 of which are Twins that are 2 months old) and a business owner, I know all too well how hectic life can truly be. Keep up the good work and the grind.

@@WoodnessGoodness I love cars, I went to school for carpentry, left carpentry to get my business and accounting and found my self back in the construction world doing the accounting for a company I have a hand in. But I love working on cars as well. Really anything to that gets my hands dirty and feels rewarding. I look forward to the day my son and I can bond or argue lol while rebuilding an old classic car. Something to strive for I guess.
For the record, the only thing better than your build is your documentation of the same and your allowing your children to participate (no matter the inconvenience) and own a small part of it themselves; GREAT DAD!!!!! Me and mine wish you and yours all things great and good; take care, be safe, best wishes and God bless!!! Chuck Knight from Buffalo, Texas. 👨🌾✝️🙏🖖🦌

This spray foam application looks amazing! It's incredible how it transforms the metal shop and adds insulation. Really appreciate the detailed walkthrough and tips. Has anyone noticed a big difference in temperature and noise reduction after using spray foam in their metal building?

Great stuff. You handled it like a pro.
Needed this today! Thanks Graham! You're an inspiration! 💜
I’ve been finishing the inside of my 32’ x 24’ metal shop and I know exactly what you mean by it being slow moving. The interior detail work/painting/drywall is taking me forever. I went with spray foam as well. It’s also not cheap. Keep pushing forward, you are doing great.

That spray foam job is 100% Guys know what they doing. Smooth as butter.
Thankfully you slipped in that OSB or you'd had to change over to Metal Goodness. Doesn't have the same ring to it.
My friend Wayne has a son named Scott. Being a great Dad, I have seen Wayne give Scott his coat when Scott was cold. Yep - Sometimes Scott wears Wayne's Coat. In fact, Buildings sometime wear Wayne's Coat, but usually, when they do, they spell it, "wainscot", even though it sounds exactly the same as "Wayne's coat". The more you know...
Oh man that intro had alot!! I’m hype!!
Just found your channel. We have the exact same color building down to the wainscoating. Great minds haha Just finished sealing our floor and I've been contemplating how to do the inside walls. Really dig what you did and may follow suit! Watched the electrical vid first and came here. Looks great!

That looks awesome man! I’m getting ready to do my own right now & after watching these, I’m scared & excited. I’m not good at confrontation either, don’t wanna be a pain in the a$$ but if I pay for something, I expect it to work as it should. Hey, Mr. G.! I am soooo happy that you "stayed the course" with the building contractor! In the long run you are way better off by doing so. I am also, as some below are, questioning why the black interior? Just curious. When the little one appeared to be dropping the roller I jumped and hollered! BTW! Is someone taking care of that brown-clothed character out on the mountain while you are busy elsewhere? So glad that your wounds are healing fast because you have a much larger responsibility than any of your buildings! 🧖🧖
@WoodnessGoodness

Amen! So black ceiling, I’ve seen it before in detail shops and boy oh boy does it look cool. Brings your focus downward. Plus we are going to have super bright lights. We shall see though!
New intro is 🔥 🤝
They did a nice job but what are the plans when you get hailed out or need to replace that roof? They sprayed directly to the steel roof panels.
So why didn’t you have them spray the metal crossbars up top and where the wall and roof come together? Doesn’t that make a bad thermal bridge which in turn will make a condensation issue?
Boogeymen are real sneaky a-holes. I had a visit from the table saw boogeyman 10 years ago. Glad you survived your fall, and glad I still have almost ten fingers! Don't work when you're tired, folks. Peace.

Graeme: I’m a little surprised you used black for ceiling. You didn’t want the light reflectivity of white for doing the detailing? Anyway, still looks great and loved the pry bar mic.

Amazing job on your garage. I'm happy for you. Latter falls are very dangerous. I think you got lucky that you wasn't hurt worse. last summer I fell off a latter. I had a broken wrist, 9 rib fractures, 6 broken ribs, punctured lung and a lascerated liver. So be very careful

We have some heavy duty lighting coming in and have really liked the dark ceilings I’ve seen in other shops. Good question. We shall see how I like it!
I think OSB is a great material to use. Since its glued together it becomes quite water resistant. even enough where if you taped to boards together it can become a vapor barrier.

Are you not required to do a DC315 fire barrier paint before your color? Any exposed spray foam in my garage need 15 min fire barrier.
@WoodnessGoodness
5 ай бұрын
Great question. Not required unless it’s in a building with open flames, active welding and the such. I would like to eventually coat it in a fire retardant. Just so darn expensive!
@DetachedGarage

@@WoodnessGoodness Ahhhhhh must be different for commercial vs. Residential. Yeah.... $1,500 in paint alone for my project, then I have to paint it again to get the color I want. 😂
HA!! Love me some Dexter!!
Does anyone know if he ever goes over a cost breakdown? I cant decide between a metal building or pole barn.
@WoodnessGoodness
11 ай бұрын
Pole barns are more expensive typically. The metal building was a cheaper option but I unfortunately had terrible workers. You can expect to pay 20K or so for a metal building like this. No concrete, nothing on the inside.
The spray foam guys reminded me of "Dexter Morgan"🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I white celling makes a shop so much brighter
Question: on the temporary H post structure… why did u install that? asking because I may need one
@WoodnessGoodness
4 ай бұрын
Because of where the building is situated. You can have them permanent installed apparently. I have no plans on removing it.
wtf that intro?!?! felt like the simpsons meet anime in japan hahaha, loved it!!!!
Quite a costly project. I know I have just had a metal building built that still needs a lot of upgrading. I am sure I won't be able to do as much as you did with yours. Mine will have to be a bit more on conservative spending. Nice video.
What color do they call the metal along bottom of interior of garage. Charcoal ? Or something else ?

Shop is looking good. I have considered spray foam in the rafters of my shop, but am hesitant due to fears of flammability. I assume you are leaving the spray foam uncovered. Are you not worried about setting it on fire? I do a lot of welding, so fire is a real concern to me.
@WoodnessGoodness
Жыл бұрын
Yea very true. I have no plans on welding in here. I plan on leaving it exposed. If you really want, you can paint it with a fire paint but that costs an insane amount!

Brookstone Buildings AND Newmart Builders. Horrific companies.
