You can buy a cheap pair of castanets for about $5.00 and have a lot of fun. Don’t. Get the decorated ones. They are tourist junk and are unplayable.

Castanets don’t eliminate the Spanish Guitar you still need but they accompany it and are super simple to learn.

I feel like a visigoth entering the iberian peninsula for the first time. Greeted by the most prosperous of people, food, music and harmony. We have no other option, but to join their festivities.

Ahhh, man! I've danced since I was 5....I'm old now, still dancing! This rich, beautiful music is inspiring and calming to my soul.... I grew up with Spanish guitar.....and jazz being played by relatives. My dear, sweet mother played classical, Spanish guitar and piano....didn't need sheet music, she just had music in her head! She played and played! Mostly Segovia and the old classics, Mozart, Bach and Liszt? Can't spell anymore. She loved Chopin......all beautiful and soul stirring music!
