I've always loved Mikey and Leo's dynamic, in almost every universe. Rise was amazing because I got to see so much of them bonding, it was something I really loved. This is beautiful ✨😭

There started out as only a few little things that bothered me about the show but I could move past them, and I loved the dynamic as it grew between the turtles. The one thing I can't get past is how badly they butchered Splinter's character. They made him so cold and uncaring. He calls the turtles by "colors" even though they all call each other by names. That is something I am not cool with. It's almost written like he looked at them as lesser beings, that has never been Splinter. The way they wrote splinters character was just bad. If splinter had been written better I think I would like the show more than I do. I still don't know that it would be my favorite, but it would at least be like second place.

I would like to imagine the 2012 turtles if not all versions would eventually cry their eyes out if they witnessed this. I love the 2012 turtles, but they never made me feel like they are as close with each other as a family like these turtles are. 🥲
