Beautiful Seals & Pups - Norfolk - Horsey Gap & Blakeney Point
A relaxing video of seals and pups doing their thing! Comments & subs welcome :-)
We visited two areas of Norfolk (UK) which are well known seal watching places. From November to January thousands of grey seals occupy the beaches to birth and rear their young. First we visited Horsey Gap and the next day took a boat trip to see the seals on Blakeney Point. The weather was very different on the second day…
Merry Christmas everyone from Kirk & Bear.

I was looking up your Africa videos but got distracted as one always does by seals.😂 We loved our visit to Horsey Gap. Great videography, thank you.
I love seals. Those speckled colored ones are beautiful. Your video put a big smile on my face. Thanks so much for sharing.

I am absolutely over the moon to hear that you enjoyed it. It was really enjoyable to film and thank you so much for your kind words. May I suggest our Puffins video and our last snorkelling video for some more enjoyable nature footage? K&B

It really is great. Planning to visit again for the wetland wildlife and possibly to watch the planes take off at RAF Lakenheath. The seals stole the show for us though :-)

Hello, and thank you for the amazing compliment! Most of the time I hand hold for photos and video so I can compose my shots quickly, but not always. When using a large and heavy lens I favour a monopod. All of this video was shot handheld. With photographs at long focal lengths I always try to get my shutter speed reasonably high, generally at least one over focal length (for example 1/500th at 500mm) and stop down the lens a little. I also used a camcorder for some of this video and it has a zoom equivalent to 600mm but the image stabilisation is quite good. I always try to use good posture and technique to help stabilise photos and video. Does that help? Greetings from the UK and thank you for watching the video 👋

@@kirkandbear wow, it looks rather stable regarding to a handheld vedio. thank you for your selfishless sharing experience in shutter speed setting of long focal lengths. you must be an expert in recording. I always get my video looked flurred due to handshake. I have lived in UK for 3 years and have visited hunstanton and scarborough SEA LIFE to see seals (mostly habour seals). hoping to have chances to see seals in norfolk someday.

I find if I relax my hands I can make the camera more stable. Give it a try…once I start recording I always have to consciously make myself relax my hands. I didn’t realise I did that until I started shooting video! I hope my tip helps you and that you are enjoying the UK 👍

hi may I know what lenses are you using to shoot and film them? :D

Hi 👋 I used a GoPro 10 (opening scene and boat b-roll), a Canon RF 100-500 zoom lens for both video and stills, and I also used a Panasonic HC-X1500 camcorder (sunny day land based footage only). All of this video is shot hand held. I hope that helps! Just ask if you have any more questions, and thanks for watching 👍
