Beautiful Red Violet 🌹 Only Paint and Water 💦 2 Colors! Dutch Pour | Acrylic Pouring | Fluid Art
Very happy with how this painting turned out! I originally planned on using a few other colors but changed my mind and decided to just use two colors, white and red violet. The intensity of the split base helps to show a beautiful range while actually only using two colors. That one corner gave me some trouble so I just scraped it off and re-poured until I was happy. Any paint that was scraped off will get reused in another painting too, so no waste! I'm also only using paint and water for this dutch pour. No floetrol, no silicone, no pouring medium. I just wanted to show that it's possible to create beautiful acrylic pours with just paint and water using only a couple of colors. Very beginner friendly!

RECIPE:
- Amsterdam Titanium White mixed with water 60:40 ratio
- Amsterdam Red Violet mixed with water 60:40 ratio
You can mix your own or buy Red Violet already mixed - to mix your own
start with a TINY dot of blue and add red until you like the color. I mixed
Carmine Red with Phthalo blue because that's what I had available here!

Absolutely gorgeous!!❤ Limiting the base to only 2 colors gives better contrast and a variety of the pink shades. When you blew on it, my thought was that you were blowing lufe into your painting😮 Thank you for allowing us to see your process.

Your paintings are beautiful, I am amazed that you can get cells. I have been trying and had very little success. Even with Floetrol. I also tried a bloom tonight and my paint wouldn’t blow with the hair dryer. I keep trying but it’s so frustrating. The pillow was right out of the can.

Thank you! I’m not sure I’ve actually never used that paint, sorry. Give it a try though! I only use Amsterdam because I know it holds up so well with only water and their titanium white is known for making cells. But I’ve heard great things about DecoArt Americana!
Beautiful!!! Lately I've had a hard time getting cells, nor lacing. How did you get them with just paint and water? I noticed your paints were quite thin. Was that it? This is my next project!

Thank you! Yes by using thin paint and using the small butane torch to create cells from the heat. 😊
Hi Lauren, in my studying of paint pours, I heard someone say it's best to paint your canvas beforehand & dry because sometimes torch or chemicals leave a hole that needs to be filled in. Not sure if true because I'm a newbie. The white and Red violet colors are gorgeous together ❤️

Thank you! I’m using Amsterdam white paint which makes great cells. Also from using the little torch quickly over the paint. The heat breaks up the surface layer and lets the color underneath come through.
Love it but I so wanted you to add some of that yellow

It’s a mini Bernzomatic. I got it from Home Depot and you buy separate refill canisters 😊

You can use a handheld blower, a straw or your breath to move the paint

I mix acrylic paint and water in a cup to make that fluid consistency, then pour onto the canvas 😊
This is so stunning. You did it with just two colours that's so magical. By the way, which hair dryer do you use for your Dutch pours? I have one which blows too much even on a low setting so am searching for one that will work for dutch pours.

Thank you! In this painting I’m using a Revlon 1875W and in the smaller paintings I use the travel size Revlon 1875W. I actually had that same problem with my old dryer, it blew paint everywhere no matter what I did 😂 These Revlons work great though!

No medium or silicone, I’m honest with my recipes. It’s possible to get cells without them with the paint brands I use. I also created extra cells with the torch. 🤗
