Beautiful Polish pottery in Bolesławiec, Poland

#poland #bolesławiec #polishpottery
In this episode we're visiting the Polish mecca for Polish pottery: Bolesławiec. We are visiting one of the local factories making the beautiful distinctive dishes to see the production process and meet the owners.

I love my Boleslawiec Polish pottery, but I didn’t really know where it was located in Poland. We visited Dresden and were surprised to find a Polish pottery shop. But, now I realize how close it was and we should have visited. We are in our late 60s, and traveling to Europe is getting hard for us. But, I just ache to see Poland again. Looks like we have to add Boleslawiec to our bucket list! Oh, and we had something in Frankfurt that looked very much like the pork shank you showed. It was delicious.

When My brother and his family were stationed in Germany, they would make day trips to Boleslawiec just to purchase Polish Pottery and they've got Thousands of dollars worth in their home. We on the other hand, have several nice pieces and serving sets but I've always wanted to travel there myself (The Mother land). As far as food goes, I would really love to see you replicate the meals you had there in Boleslawiec. They both looked terrific and now, I want a pork shank. Thanks from Green Bay.

Andy has my favorite patterns. They are so beautiful! Some say I need professional help with my Polish Pottery obsession.. I have about 150 pieces. Most were purchased from The Polish Pottery Outlet in Englewood, Colorado (there are very few PP stores in the mountain west). But I can always use more, hopefully purchased in person from Boleslawiec one day. #bucketlist

When we planned to visit Poland in 2016, I really wanted to see Zagan, site of the actual prison camp where the Great Escape took place. My wife wasn't interested... until she discovered that Bolesławiec was near by! Two must-see places in one leg of the trip! During our stay, in a town called Golejov, we ate at a delightful restaurant three days in a row where we first tried golonka! Absolutely melt in your mouth delicious pork. Thanks for the great videos, and Mark, I hope you got to check out the prison camp while you were out that way. It's well worth the visit!
