Beautiful Perennial Cut Flower Garden Tour: Early Summer
In this video, I will share with you my perennial garden, cut flowers that are blooming in June, gardening and harvesting tips and ideas that you can apply to your backyard home garden. I will also show how to create a wildflower hand-tied bouquet and flower arrangement this week for my roadside farm stand.

About Me: Hi! My name is Crane. I grow cut flowers in my suburban cottage home garden in a naturalistic style in New Jersey Zone 7. I make garden bouquets and sell at the roadside stand in front of my house. I also grow all kinds of vegetables and, sometimes, cook. I grow ornamental landscape plants and trees as well as create sanctuary for wildlife, birds, insects, etc. Thank very much for visiting my channel. Any question, please let me know in the comment.

@@cranerygardens WE ARE! So... let us know when you're moving here 🥰😉
Last week, it was my mom's 100 days ceremonial event, after her passing. We had 4 monks and about 100 other guests. Each of us sibling (5 of us) had our own assigned task, mine was to cut flowers from my garden and make 7 bouquets of flowers. Guess what, Crane? It was from you that I learned how to put my bouquets together. As I walked around my garden cutting flowers, I constantly thought of you, how you would pair everything together - the type of flowers, the textures, the colors, etc. I had to run back out to the garden several times to get more flowers, but you would be proud of me that I completed 7 beautiful bouquets, all in shades of white, purple, and lavender which are my mom's favorite colors. Of course, my bouquets were nothing compare to yours, but you wouldn't believe this, one of the monks actually complimented how beautiful the flowers were. Thank you, Crane, I couldn't have done it without you. You are awesome!

Regarding your tulip bulbs in your veggie garden. Did you leave them in the bed after they dried up? I did the same with tulips in my raised veggie bed. I planted lettuce seedlings in between the rows of tulips that were drying up. But a ground squirrel ate up 2 of 3 varieties of lettuce!! 🥬 🐿️
@cranerygardens

Thank you very much 🙏🏻🥰❤️ yes I left them in the bed. I don’t expect all of them to come back though. I would sow a lot of lettuce seeds then thin them out later if needed. One packet should have a lot of seeds more than we need 😊🥰❤️
OMG I'm absolutely in love with your 'rule breaker' wild flower arrangement!!! 😍your channel has inspired me to create a flower garden like yours when we move to our new house (Georgia) out of state (Florida).💚 - best wishes, Sheri

You walk with me when I am in my garden every day. While I'm digging, while I'm cutting, and especially when I feel down that things aren't working out. I often stare at my overwhelming work and think how wonderful your gardens look, and perhaps I too will enjoy the bounty of all my labor You have inspired me to be in my garden more, and I wish for you both all the blooms you dream of and a very large umbrella over everything in time for the next big storm 😊

Thank you for the inspiration. I’ve been a vegetable gardener for over 30 years. Except for roses, I didn’t see the use for flowers. “If you can’t eat it, why grow it?” Your garden has arrested my soul!! I will be making some room for flowers next year. Thank you!

Cranery, I learn about Floral Dip from Danielle at North Flower Farm. Bless her! I used it for my hydrangeas and it lasted almost 2 weeks. No need to submerge them under water for hours like before. I agree with you. Flowers also bring me so much joys and therapy. Make bad days and life's challenges more tolerable and easier to swallow. Continue to pursue your dream and passion. To grow, cut, and arrange flowers. You bring so much joys, happiness, and healing to so many people. TY for the inspirations!

Hello Crane. Wonderful video as usual. You had lots of surprises for us like that “diseased” coneflower. What the keck? I couldn’t believe that beauty was caused bu an illness. I’m sorry plant, but you look gorgeous when you are sick 😅 Also you mentioned a lot of short lived perennials …like feverfew. I don’t grow it so I had no idea! Or Yarrow, which grows wild around here. I thought they would regrow year after year. I’m wondering how do you control your Borage. I grew some in the veggie garden last year and they would flop and take over a large space. I had a few plant together… was that the problem? I had to laugh when you ran to a locked car without the keys…in the rain…Rrrrr. It’s so frustrating. I do-that all the time. And finally I agree that your flowers make us ALL happier Crane. Thank you ❤
You’re wild and crazy Crane! Hahahaha. Love the bouquet anyway!

Your bouquets are so lovely!❤ I saw you over on Danielle's channel.😊 I love your garden, and you are so funny!
Thank you for another video filled to the brim with beauty! The endless variety never ceases to amaze me. I think I may see you on PBS one day. 😍 I can relate to things popping up in the garden/yard. Today I learned the plant I let grow onto part of my back deck wasn't mock strawberry or black raspberry, but a dewberry (the first I've ever seen). So I harvested about a cup and I'm debating whether to fly them out to my daughter tomorrow and make her a small pie. I cut about 23 different peony blooms this spring and have them in the fridge, ready to fly out. I'm hoping to make a huge bouquet (or smaller ones, I guess!) to celebrate my granddaughter's birth 2 weeks ago. I haven't told my daughter about this because this is my first time chilling peony buds in hopefully marshmallow stage and I'm not sure it'll work. I guess with 23 or so some are bound to work??? 😂I've a paw paw tree growing right at the edge of the deck. This is where I gave up growing them somewhere else and threw some fruit out for the animals... I think I'm going to let it grow there, although we may have to do major surgery on the deck...I will also have to buy another variety of paw paw tree to get fruit, but at least I can try to plant it where I was trying before. If the one by the deck produces fruit, it will be an original variety which is cool. Last but not least, I have a grape vine sprouting up by this same deck and now am wondering will a grape arbor be in the future there?
I love your videos and especially the beautiful garden. Love your happy spirit . Those seeds are going g to produce some beautiful flowers. Tfs❤
Another wonderful video, thank you 🥰🌸

Your wild-flower-bouquet is sooo beautiful!!! No wonder they feature you in a magazine! 💐 I would love to read the article, but we are too far apart 🥲!! And: As I'm living in denmark I also love to look Lars' and Allens Videos, but I was laughing when you featured them in this video! Somehow the world grows together, if people share same interests and points of view! 💖 And I also thought how wonderful it is, that everyone of us comes from an other country! You told us about your family and I came from Austria to denmark 2 years ago, to fulfill a lifelong dream of having my own farm and to live near the sea. And Jason has also relatives in Germany (if I got you right) and I think Allen has relatives in Amerika .... but we all are connected through our interest in flowers, our love for nature and diversity and so I feel we are also some sort of colorful bouquet (and given the choice I would opt to the wild flower bouquet in this case ;) ). Each of your bouquets is so unique and special, I really love your style and referring to one of your latest videos, I think you shouldn't change anything (just if you yourself like to). Your bouquets (also the new wild flower bouquets!) are an expression of your creativity and therefor part of yourself and the brand, that you built up during the process of becoming a florist yourself. I think I could identify your bouquets out of dozens. They are so special and wonderful!! I wish you a good start into the summer! Greetings from denmark 💖🌻🤗

Crane, Columbines are my favorite flower of all! I have been looking for seeds to grow that lovely pink variety but have not found them anywhere. Robbie, from Visit Our Garden YT channel in CA, grows the same one! I have a double white one, (my favorite), and many various shades of blue to almost black. I’ve planted yellow ones but they never seem to make it through the winter nor do the Colorado blue ones. Even though they don’t live very long, I love them so much! I scatter their seeds everywhere so I can always have some in at least one of my flower beds. Some of the seed pods are quite dry and ready to have their seeds scattered so I’m going outside and do that right now! 🩷
Beautiful! Great video! 😊
I am enjoying watching how you developed your perennial cut flower business. I garden in Zone 3, which is extremely challenging! I would suggest you add veronica speedwell, which come in white, purple/blue and red. These are spikey in shape and are an excellent cut flower. I also like my giant fleece flower, which is like a clematis and blooms white wispy flowers, so beautiful. I subscribed today so I can enjoy for channel as long as you share your garden. Cheers!
