Masuria is a land of a thousand lakes, which were formed about 15,000 years ago, during the glaciation. The biggest tourist attraction of this region is the Great Masurian Lakes Trail. Masuria has never been a separate administrative unit, neither in historical, nor ecclesiastical or secular terms, which is why, in part, it is impossible to determine the exact borders of this region. After World War II, the decision taken at the Tehran conference and finally in Potsdam, the greater part of Masuria was annexed to the Polish state. Masuria is not only sailing. It is also a place of rest for thousands of families booking accommodation in cottages, resorts, hotels, boarding houses and apartments. See Masuria from a bird's eye view.
