Nostalgic Memories were revived while watching these ladies cutting those thorny plants which is used to weave mats and them enjoying the hearty meal of Rice Gruel along with Colocasia and Chutney. The natural spoon made with the Leaf of the Jackfruit tree really took me to the good old days. Awesome video.

About 6 decades ago this spoon made of Jack fruit tree leaves had been widely used in Kerala. It is hard to find its usage even in i remote villages in Kerala.

I have tasted rice porridge in a very poor Keralite family. They had the famous red rice boiled, I had purchased lot of good Jagger's which we had cut into small slices, and they had grated fresh coconut. We took the precooked rice and gently boiled it in the Jaggery syrup, to which we liberally added freshly grated coconut. We stirred th porridge over low flame for around 10 minutes and served it hot. I STILL REMEMBER WHAT A GREAT MEAL IT WAS.
