I am an extremely introverted person and I hate large groups, but this song makes me want to hear it in concert charged by energy of a ridiculously large crowd. It has a sort of 'the more the merrier' kind of feel to it and it just makes me happy.

technically theres like that mouth thing used to make that twangy sound. I think its called a mouth harp or something? but other then that, nothing else! It really is beautiful. Welcome to the tip of the iceberg of Brazilian music and culture!

no matter how we screw things up, it's seeing music videos like this that remind me that we as humans are pretty damn amazing with our love and passion for singing, dancing, creating songs like THIS that bring life to how we live it, versus just overly generically lyrical pop music that takes away from THIS kind of just...love for nature and unity.

I was first introduced to Barbatuques when "Baiana" was used as the theme for the redesign of the video game Shadowrun back in 2007. Been a fan ever since despite not speaking a single bit of Portuguese. I was really happy to see them at the beginning of the Closing Ceremony though I don't think NBC here in the US even mentioned the name of the group. :(
