The Aboriginal legend says that three aboriginal sisters, 'Meehni', 'Wimlah' and 'Gunnedoo' lived in the Jamison Valley & they belonged to the Katoomba tribe. they fell in love with three brothers from another tribe, so they were not allowed to get married.
The unhappy brothers tried to forcefully capture the three sisters. Since the three sisters lives were in danger, a witchdoctor from their tribe turned them into stone to save the lives. But the witchdoctor got killed before he could reverse the spell.
