Best tutorial I’ve seen for bias binding ! You cover everything from A -Z ! I’ve been sewing for over 50 years but I’m always learning new things . Thank you Annie :)

Thanks for watching! We're so glad it's helpful.
This is hands down the best video I’ve watched on binding. It provides the best explanation of the three different types of binding, how they differ, and when they should be used. It then provides the best instructions for how to apply them. It manages to be a concise complete beginner, intermediary, and (at the very least, the first stages of) expert level course on bindings with the best tips and tricks to inspire confidence and facilitate success. The hostess has a gift for teaching that makes it all seem easy and at the parts that may be more challenging, she explains it with clear, concise, plain language that inspires enough confidence to at least attempt them. You don’t even feel the usual fear of failure with something new because you’re confident that with time, patience, and a seam ripper, success will soon be yours. 😂 I’ve recently been inspired to unearth the sewing machine I despaired of learning to use because I couldn’t find anyone to teach me how to do it. It made me fear that sewing was actually a lot more difficult and/or tedious than it appeared. I tried classes twice but the instructors weren’t as thorough as I desired and I really wanted one on one instruction. Amazingly, KZread has recently provided two amazingly talented tailors who are extremely knowledgeable AND phenomenal teachers to boot. What’s truly hysterical (to me anyway) is that the two are polar opposites in seemingly every way. 😂🤣😂 If you want to check out another professional sewing instructor, but one with a masculine, hip/cool, rock star vibe, check out the Tock Custom channel.

Thanks so much for the kind words. You made our day!
I have just decided that I want to make some different bags and have been researching KZread for all sorts of tips. For binding this is one of the most useful, keeper videos I've watched, all almost 40 mins of it. As a beginner to the sewing world I understood everything and the reasoning behind doing something. The finishings on all her bags are somthing amasing and professional. I've never been so impressed and immediately subscribed after. It wasn't boring and the camera angle showed everything which is crucial for beginners and her explanations were very concise. I even loved her displays of various colourful bags and would purchase one compare to when I see other project and I think who in the world would purchase that! I found my go to for tutorials and her videos are not boring. I will also be purchasing the "ByAnnie Stiletto" as looks like a useful tool in many ways.Thank you Annie for a wonderful video and helpful video tutorial.

Oh wow thank you! I always did my mitred binding by just ending 1/4” to the end. Pivoting and sewing to the corner makes it easier to fold and keep us it from slipping. I’m definitely saving this video and subscribing to your channel. Very thorough and easy to follow.

You definitely have a gift for teaching. Clear as anyone would want! Thanks and I love the bags.
I have always struggled with joining the ends of binding as it comes around bag or quilt. Then I saw a KZread demo by Krista Moser for Creative Grids Folded Corner Clipper. It’s like magic. My joins for the binding strips & joining together on a project are perfect. I highly recommend this ruler. Thanks for all the wonderful content you share. I love making your bags.

Thank you for this tutorial! Not only are the directions clear, the production quality is great and I was able to learn a lot about bias binding BEFORE I tried it for the first time. I also find it very helpful to just watch someone actually sewing. I'm fairly new to sewing, and I never really understood how to use my stiletto for this type of application.

This is one of the best videos on binding!
A hint for joining the bias binding pieces is to lay them down in the shape of Tennessee and continue to piece the Tennessees together. I learned that when I lived in TN. I use it whenever I cut bias and join them. Easy way to remember
Thank you very much, I learn so much from your podcasts.
I just knew there was a way to put a square together to make true bias. THANKYOU this is so very good

Over the last couple years, I've purchased all the classes you have on craftsy. Then, because I'm used to your patterns, I've purchased patterns from your website as well. I sure wish you'd do more classes though, especially on that organizer you have here in the background!! It's beautiful! Thank you for everything you contribute!

These tips are helpful for me, I greatly appreciate for sharing these ideas with us.
I have a bernina as well and I have found that using the 2A foot (overcast foot) before applying bindings to quilts really helps with the mashing down of the layers. This is an extra step but I think might be good to help with moderate bulk of these bags. Love the hammering for really bulky places. Wonderful tips!!!
Your vids are excellent! Thank you for sharing your skills to help us improve ours. Abundant blessings from our Lord to you!
Brilliant video - so much good learing. Thank you!
Loooove this, all those beautiful bags,
Thanks Annie. So very helpful.
If you don't have a machine with needle down, you can simply turn the hand wheel to move the needle into your fabric to hold it before making adjustments to the fabric under the presser foot. Same thing.
I love your tutorials they are wonderful and you say all

Best video I've seen for a variety of bindings! I have one question about something that has come up when doing projects. If you're doing a mitered corner binding, and need to adjust your seam allowances by restitching or trimming the seam allowances, what do you do for the corners? Do you have to remove the stitching and redo the miters?
Great info!
So helpful and informative thank you
I'm a new sewer and subscriber. I love watching your videos. You illustrate and explain all the details so well. I appreciate that because sometimes other instructors rush through the process or leave out extra details and that makes it harder for me to understand the process. I feel like I'm in a classroom and truely learning because of your teaching style. Thank You!
Thank You!!!
