I had messaged my abusers girlfriend about him, then silenced my phone, hit my pen, and watched this in the theater. Truly will never forget the anxiety and terror I felt. Love this video, excited to see more :)

Fellow Beau here, I really appreciate your willingness to put your personal experiences out to the public in order to talk about the discomfort the movie caused you. I'm sure that was hard and it was really brave of you! I felt similarly where I loved the movie but woof! Had me feeling some stuff. And while the movie was triggering, parts of it honestly helped me, at least in an articulation way, especially weirdly enough, the first/opening part. Without trauma dumping too much, I struggle with paranoia and anxiety and when I watched this movie with my boyfriend it was crazy to see my own warped perceptions/fears visually manifested. Like, it's definitely absurd/surreal and I know these aren't realistic fears but the idea that I'm going to accidentally leave my house unlocked and someone's going to walk in, in like, the five minutes it take me to take the trash out is something I think about all the time. So even with my own self awareness that this was intended as surreal exaggeration it was sort of nice to point to the screen and be like, "That's what the news looks like to me." And it seemed like he understood it a bit better after. I wonder if there's not something to be gained therapeutically *because* it is so triggering. In the sense that, because the sense of discomfort is universal, it can help the people in your life understand what you might be feeling day to day? Anyway! Just a thought! Loved the video!

I first saw your video on Fantastic Beast, and the Harry Potter world video essay! And I am so glad I decided to watch your video because your logic and speech are truly refreshingly great! Your editing is also so clean and natural to listen to, please continue your work! New subscriber and super glad to be here! Also I learned so much, I am listening while commenting are you a philosophy student, or film, or both?

Oh my god this is like the nicest comment thank you!!! I studied film and media in college and got my bachelors in it. Didn’t study philosophy but I’ve always liked thinking about stuff. And watching Abigail’s videos basically counts as a philosophy degree right?? I also do video editing professionally and I’m an aspiring filmmaker, writer, musician, songwriter, basically aspiring creative lol

I was very happy to see the notification for this video. I found it very interesting, the way you talk about things is very pleasant, I wouldn't really know how to explain it. I wanted to write a long message, but I wouldn't really know what to say, or rather how to say it. But I find it very interesting how a film can make us feel, because of this closeness to our own lived experiences. I've never had an anxiety attack while watching a movie, but I have found myself crying before. Crying because the character's situation was way too close to what I had experienced, and it made me burst into tears. I had to pause the movie. But it's very rare, however, that I feel uncomfortable in front of it. But recently, I felt this constant discomfort, throughout the duration of my viewing. I cried too. I felt this "something is wrong" thing. It made me feel bad. And I think that means the film in question is well made, if it can make me feel that way. I'm happy to have seen another video of yours (I saw that you did lives, I haven't watched them yet, if I take a look I'll leave a comment), that type of video analysis, it doesn't matter the subject, as long as it is interesting and well explained. Thank you for that, your content is very good
