This is just a lil tape I decided to put together in the midst of everything going on, some of us’ll probably miss out on summer this year, I know I am, I’m taking this virus seriously lol, some aren’t, but either way this tape is just something for us to sit back, vibe to, & think of every summer we’ve experienced, & all the summers we’ll get to make up for the one we missed out on this year haha. Being stuck in the house so much, I’ve had so much time to think, I’ve thought about all of the summers I had with the homies, running all over the neighborhood, swimming, hooping, just having fun, can’t forget the summer romances lol. The weekends during those same Summers staying over my grandmas house, & doing all of the same shit over there, the fire food she’d make, the movies we’d watch, the stories she’d tell, I’m thankful for those times, a lot of my homies & people I considered “friends” are no longer here, some in & out of jail, some are serving life in prison, some I’ve just lost touch with. My G-Ma passed right before I graduated High School, I barely made it & she was the only one who believed I could do it. I know I always talk about the past, & reminisce, but I promise I’m not stuck there lol, it’s just whenever I’m in a rut, or I’m feeling down, or I’m just unsure about my self, my future, or what I’m doing, I think about all my homies & where they’re at, I could’ve been there too, I think about the moment my Grandma told me I could do it when I barely had any faith in myself, I think about all of my low points, I think about these things to remind myself how far I’ve come, & to keep going until I’ve made everyone who’s ever believed or does believe in me proud. There’s so much bad shit I’ve experienced in life, It’ll never outweigh the good though. Those summers were the best! For anyone who’s had the odds stacked against them like myself, lost people along the way, if you’re unsure about yourself, unsure you can achieve your goals & dreams, if you feel like you have no support, whatever it is, just keep going, don’t worry about the non-believers, you’ll overcome the odds, you’ll achieve everything you want to & more, you’ll turn everyone into believers! Don’t downplay anything you’ve accomplished big or small, you did it! It’s nothing but love & support from me to everyone of y’all.
