Binkbeats is an artist from the Netherlands whose covers of current artists such as Baths, Amon Tobin and Flying Lotus have gotten him accolades online. Yes, we all love the original, but this still deserves a lot of respect and acclaim. He didn't just emulate all the notes and structure, he matched so many of the timbers and nuances too. Brilliant cover.

okay the people criticizing this dude haven't the slightest iota of how much discipline and effort went into making this possible. I can't even wrap my head around how I would set up all the looping pedals correctly, let alone be able to trigger everything and switch between instruments at the drop of a hat

+Thanatos Who gives a shit about those criticising him? Not to sound like a total doosh but the mans talent on its own calibre totally mutes and discredits any voicing of an opposite opinion. He is an impressive talent to have succeeded in this close approximation of aphex twin's unmatched composition.

+Lsdude420 You shouldn't really flatter them by assuming that I give a shit about them haha. I just find it baffling that they have the gall to criticize him in the first place; probably while sitting, crumb strewn, in a cheap, sweat-inoculated office chair

Excuse me, I am a music critic. I am afraid your opinions are totally muted and discredited because you don't understand anything about the processes involved in critiquing music. Not that I give a shit about you, having the gall to criticize the critics; probably while sitting, crumb strewn, in a cheap, sweat-inoculated office chair. Just in case you're irony impaired, (hey this is KZread), I'm asking you not to be such an obnoxious tool.

Thanatos You see the part where I talked about irony? Obviously not.
The distorted epic finale took this from 'damn this is a clever cover' to 'absolutely killing it'. Amazing.

Covering Aphex Twin is no easy feat, but choosing to tackle the twisted beats and complex rhythms of 'Windowlicker' takes it to a whole new level.
analog foil distortion! genius.
I'm a longtime fan of Aphex Twin and this is an amazing cover of Windowlicker. Take a listen to Acoustica by Alarm Will Sound for similar; orchestral covers of Aphex Twin, including many from Drukqs. I will be listening to this often, I'm sure!

he leaves out the part where the original changes the feeling to shuffle from straight and then back again and into another shuffle part. which i think is okay, because it would mean do record several loops at first if you don't have a drummer backing you. BUT in the main theme he is out of tune and it's awful. hurts my ears. Still very impressive. and great. Btw, my brain had this tune on repeat today, like: wake up- windowlicker running in my head. going to uni - windowlicker at uni - windowlicker! four hour shift as a cashier - windowlicker all over my brain! all my colleagues were like: "paul, you're in such a good mood today!" Hell yes, I am!

all you who dare to critizise: you do realise that this guy plays a track that was meticulously constructed, arranged and recorded in weeks and months of work on computer systems LIVE???? He does everything Aphex Twin's studio does by himself in realtime. I mean come on, who is not going to give him HUGE CREDIT for doing this. It's perfect! Props!! Applause!!
@RCmies

Why can't you criticize this? Also it's not like he created a track out of scratch. I hate how these comments are shutting down criticism even though people have made fair points and just because you appreciate the work put into making this you can't say it couldn't be done better.

Insane! The fact that somebody, or anybody, would choose to cover Aphex Twin says it all. More so with a deviant (and obscure) track like ‘Windowlicker’, whose unorthodox beats and borderline-perverse rhythms are disturbingly catchy as they are complex - to even fathom, let alone master and reproduce. Any dude that does, and does succeed (like this dude), is an effin’ genius! Much respect on your choice of music, and hats off to you for nailing what I consider to be a flawless cover! 🙌🏼👏🏼🦻🏼🔊

I would buy this how can you say it's not well done he's skilled at what he does and deserves good feedback.
Absolutely nailed it, and gorgeous location/shoot. Can you ever fail to impress man?!
Windowlicker will forever be a classic.
I don't think people understand just how hard something like this is to pull off, this is ONE TAKE, not a pre recorded piece. ya some of it is off from the original, but unique. I can't believe how amazing this is. so much skill
Probably the closest anyone has ever gotten to doing this cover in 1 take without using computer software... All Hardware. Holy shyte, man. Really great job!
This was actually quite amazing, I even paused to go check out the original song about halfway through and came back to this one to finish it up. Both are fantastic pieces of work.
I my lord this man is a genius this cover is so dope what a great work!!!!!!!!
Favorite track so far!! Aphex Twin was my step into being interested in electronic music. Thanks so much for this Bink!!
Absolutely amazing. Like Gabriel said a song that should stay untouched, this did it justice, well done.
An amazing rendition of a classic and I'm so impressed to see it being done live. Such talent! So much skill and finesse.
I never thought I'd see the day someone attempted this. Nice!
this is a Super Amazing intelligent cover of one of the most surreal Aphex's track , true to the bass and original metrics! fantastico!
My god I'm literally blown away by this all.... I can't even fit the amount that's going on here into my mind at once. Awesome!!
i can say i have not been this blown away by an idea/execution in a very long time
Whenever I see complimentary toothpaste at the dentists office 2:07
And that is also the ultimate song-cover-challenge I can imagine ...
When I heard this on sound cloud, I had no idea what was going on. seeing the video...wow! Amazing stuff.
this is DOPE! Pretty creative with the live setup, now I want a marimba in the studio.
Zo vet! Alles voor die echte pure vibe!!!

Wow you've really outdone yourself this time. God damn.

Dude this is fucking amazing.
OK, it is mind-blowing, to see how he did all this and I am all with the praise in the comments. The only thing that sopped the shivers down my back was the missing spectrographic spiral thing right at the end. It was in the album version i guess. Tbh, I can't even imagine, how you could pull this off with an acoustic instrument, not even with simple effects. But still, it would have made it a solid 12/10.
This is fantastic! talented guy.
