As a headphone user I only trust your detailed reviews

I tested Bose QC45, Sony XM4, and Beats Studio Pro. The QC45 is compact and has a great case and good ANC, but the sound is blunt and boring. The Sony’s have great ANC and good sound, however to me are bulky and hot. The Studio Pro to me have the best wear comfort, never get tired of my current old Studio, and really like the sound signature best. To me the case is great, not concerned with crushing, my son has been using his and likes it. I really wanted to like the Bose but the sound was a deal killer to me. I bought a pair tried equalizing but it just lacks musicality. I could not get to like the Sony either. Just bought the Studio Pro.

Great video. I am impressed by how you demonstrated the ANC performance comparison under different conditions. Do you by any chance know which one of these headphones would block sudden, very loud bumping sounds? I have a noisy neighbour who would slam the door violently after midnight and early in the morning which gives me shocks and which is the major reason I am buying an ANC headphone so I can sleep better.

ANC cant block out sudden noises as it needs a small amount of time to play the opposite frequency to cancel the noise. Just get earplugs or something that physically blocks the sound

I can’t sleep with things in my ears. I ended up buying the Sony XM4 a few days ago, because after testing out XM4s and XM5s in the store, I found XM4s fit more snugly around my ears so I thought they would physically block more noises than the XM5.

As always an excellent review, I have my Beats studio pro still in the return period, considering exchanging it for Sony. But I'm afraid if they'll be useful in training at the gym. The beats in this regard are very versatile since they are not uncomfortable for me. It would be nice if our videos gave us an assessment of how these headphones perform in the gym and outdoor running. Including using wicked cushions to protect the cushions.

I can’t believe that not a single reviewer has mentioned the fact that if you want Dolby Atmos with TV shows (Apple TV+, Disney+, etc.) with over-ear headphones, this is the only “budget” option you’ve got. It’s the reason why I got a pair.

The beats are awesome for the gym

Perhaps I’m the only one, but I actually prefer a tighter clamping force than most people. I don’t like having to constantly readjust my headphones because they’re too loose. For reference, I own the XM4s and the Studio Pro’s.

Awesome review! Subscribed. I am going to return my beats because they have a weird popping noise when anc or transparency is on and they are not friendly to my big ears. I am going to go for the XM4 instead since they are on sale for 279 usd in best buy right now.

I picked up some studio pros for Black Friday. They sound great but the clamp force has made them a bit uncomfortable so far, I’m hoping they loosen up a bit cause I like them, and at $169 couldn’t pass them up since the the xm5s were still out of my budget, but if they don’t meet my comfort expectations then I may have try and find xm4s

At 7:00 Sony released a software update for the Sony wh-1000xm5 and let it use LDAC while having multipoint connected at the same time. Just like the earbuds version that released 2 weeks ago.

Yeah the Sony xm4 are still my favorite nc everytime I go Into Best Buy I try the xm5 and xm4 I love the xm4 better

Ngl i would rather get some budget headphones like the soundcore q30s or q45s instead of the beats studio pros(4 times the value). They are just not a good pair of premium headphones, they're more like mid tier headphones, but these are just my personal opinion.

I think the beats are the only ones that let you play lossless music directly through usb c

ive had beats pros for years and even though they are chunky than most now a days, the noise cancellation is amazing, i dont hear shit outside and you can easily fold it away in your bag. i bought the xm5 and had to return them because the noise cancellation wasnt the best and to put them away would be impossible and i wouldnt want to hold or have headphones on my neck when im not using them. they did feel amazing and was very light though and had cool features but beats if you love loud music.

Would love to see JBL Tour one M2 Review as well.

I have them. Was so excited to get them and the sound quality is horrible. Comfort wise they’re amazing but I like to feel music in my veins and they lacked in that :(

Xm4cand xm3 are the goat. I have had my xm3 for 3yrs no issues at all

Video suggestion: Why not compare the Original Sony MDR1000x (if you had those😅), Xm2, Xm3, Xm4, & Xm5 to each other and see how far has Sony improved ever since the release of their noice cancelling lineup. Just a suggestion😊

Well, when I review products I compre them to their 2 past predecessors. Xm2 and xm1 are near impossible to find now.

For what have seen about the ANC on the Beats, I don't think that they even stand a chance with Sony's products. I've sensory issues and don't tolerate headphones much time so, I don't plan on getting something that expensive (my max is 100€) I will get the WH-CH720N

If they are similar in terms of performance and sound quality, than the older wh-ch700n headphones were. Then you will be happy with them. Though at least the old wh-ch700n noise canceling was really good only for steady stuff like buss or airplane travel and wasn't that good with street chatter or that coffee shop type stuff. But sound quality was really good on the old wh-ch700n and only reason why I upgraded to the MX5's were because I got them with my Xperia 1 V phone. Yes i never have tried those newer 700 series headphones, but if they are anything like my 700n were, then those 720N will be good ones.

Will you be putting the Beats up against the Momentum 4s by any chance?

I got the MX5's from the "buy Xperia 1 V and get them for free" deal and went from the old Sony wh-ch700n headphones to these ones. I listened this review with those MX5 headphones and if that active noise canceling demo was accurate, then those beats were closer to what my 2018 bought 100€ wh-ch700n headphones had. Also they delivered easily the worst noise canceling microphone experience from these three headphones. Similarly to the noise canceling demo road noise was ok but the beats failed when you did the coffee shop demo. Beasts truly struggled to differentiate between your speaking and the background chatter. Where as both Sony's had no difficulty listening to you and block the rest of the noise out. Those beats would be good at 150€ to 200€ price range, but anything more and you can easily call that a Apple tax.

Yeah these beats are a big let down

Bose quiet comfort 45 vs the beat studio pros for a second headset

So I bought another pair of the Sony WH 1000 XM4 recently and when I went to check the firmware, it said 2.5.3. So basically, when I turn the headphones on, they must’ve been manufactured recently enough to where there was no firmware upgrade required. But what I’m confused about is I can’t find 2.5.3 anywhere on the Internet. Do you know what 2.5.3 was as far as a firmware upgrade? Thanks, as always, I love the videos .

Xm4s are louder. i got the beats and noticed they are surprisingly quiet compared to older models like the solo 3. They sound really good but aren’t loud at all.

Should have thrown xb 900 series or 700 series in the anc test for the shis and giggles😂

But the Partybox 310 is in Germany at a sale for 350 Euros until September and the Sonys aren’t. But the Sonys only cost 260 Euros. Which one would you pick?

I’ll say it’s more clear and deeper and detailed the 3s was much more lighter and not as much bass

Beats Studio Pro are easily the most comfortable for me.

After having my Bose QC 45s stolen I was in the market for new headphones. I tried a refurbished pair of XM5s 200$ and the Beats Studio plus for 170$. The beats are pretty good with an iPhone and all that. I think they are worth the 170 dollar price tag but they don’t touch the Sonys on anything. The only thing the Beats do better is fold up and store away in a bag. The Sonys still fit in my bag fine though because they are pretty flat. The XM5s blew my mind. The Sonys win on sound, comfort, noise cancellation and phone calls according to people I’ve talked too. The beats are really good on transparency but the Sonys are maybe like an 8 if beats are a 9. The Sonys sound very good. Im thinking about getting the XM5 earbuds as well to replace my buggy and not reliable Sennheiser MTW3s. I also think the Sonys smoke the QC45s as well. Those are also 200$ right now and I’m not even thinking about those. I guess I’m a Sony fanboy now

Sony Bias is always going to creep into a review. Beats are now 179.00 as opposed to over 270 to 350

lol the sound quality on the beats is better? Have you used both headphones? If so, you need your hearing checked. Objectively, both the Sony's are better than the Apple Beats Studio 3s. The Sony's have better sound stage separation and can play back a wider range of frequencies. Now, your opinion may be that the Beats sound better to you, however they are measurably worse than the two Sony's. You're paying $350 for a pair of headphones that cost Apple about $25 to build. Have fun with that.

The issue I have with the studio pros is they are very uncomfortable for me up top as a balding man. There’s virtually no padding. Like what does Joe Rogan have, those look like the most comfortable headphones ever designed for a bald guy. 😂
