Thanks Tracklib for sponsoring this video! In this video I'm talking about the concept of Sketch Arrangement. After watching Oscar's video about it (link above) it clicked. Making quick track arrangements is easy if there is an arrangement framework in place. Even when you are not inspired.
Bouncing a "sketch" arranged track into audio creates the Feedback Loop. That Feedback Loop then helps to iterate on this track from many angles: mixing, composition, arrangement, etc.

🌍 Hello World! My name is Ihor.
This is my channel where I share my experiences, ideas, reviews and tutorials related to Electronic Music Production. I focus mostly on Techno and House music. In my Studio on my Music Production Desk you will find a variety of different gear like: digital and analog synth, eurorack modular, drum machine, sampler, effect, mixer, guitar pedal, MIDI controller. Also software: DAW, Ableton, VST, plugins.
I am myself an engineer and I am quite obsessed with the Music Technology and Sound Design. I like making music without a computer. I like playing Electronic Music Live with my Minimal Dawless Setup. I love Eurorack Modular Techno and always keen to talk about the modular workflow.
I strongly believe that nothing can be better than a good Dawless Techno Jam!
I watched all the Techno Tutorials on KZread! (I think)
📺 Thanks for watching! And have fun!
✌️ Peace.

It's a very useful and inspiring technique. While watching your video I realized that this is very similar to the method I use in Ableton Live. I'll often come up with a groove in the first scene and then duplicate it several times to new scenes. Then I'll go back and delete or edit clips in each scene to create an outline of the arrangement. It's a very flexible technique that can be used in many different hardware systems and DAWs.

Always happy to see an Ihor video pop up in my feed! Even though techno is not my favorite type of music, you are a source of inspiration for me and, looking at other comments, for many others. Keep it going, the quality of your videos is steadily increasing! :)

Wow. My ST arrived two days ago. Happy to see a new video about it!! So much to learn and arrangement is really tricky. I just bail on stuff as well or bore myself to death with a 4 page track

Top work, as always, Ihor. I suffer the same issues with jams and get frustrated at the lack of a finished ‘product’. Been meaning to dig into the song mode, so thanks for the inspiration. Great to see you doing well 👍🏼

Exactly! Jamming is fun and all that, but it doesn't close the feedback loop for me. And this sketch arrangement idea is exactly what I needed! I hope you're doing well too!

Thank you for your videos Ihor! Very informative! I think it would be very nice if the top view would be more zoomed because sometimes its hard to see what exactly you're doing and youtube on pc doesn't allow to zoom. Actually if there's an easy way to zoom the videos pls let me know, anyone :)

Thank you for your feedback! Noted! Though my idea is that people follow the thought process, rather than precise adjustments that I make on the machines. But indeed people could benefit from having a closer or zoomed view!

Thank you very much, I will try this today, I have a Digitakt for about a month but never dive deep into song mode, I used Oscar's method and liked the aproach, but I was struggling arranging in Digitakt to record later on mi DAW, i think this will make my workflow better, also push me to use my ears to balance levels. PD: Also it was the first time exporting a sketch so i put in an icloud folder and inmediatly listened to it on my phone, so i can reproduce it on a different environment.

I am trying to make the "Sketch Arrangement" part as a must for my jamming sessions. So simple, but so good to have a bounced version to listen to in or outside of the studio!

Hi! Spent a few days on it, maybe you could explain it to me. I want to make an arrangement in DT song mode controlling OT tracks (muting/unmuting them). In order to do so I wanted to assign DT midi tracks to channels 1-8 and then make OT tracks recieve sequence from DT. I did go to OT settings - midi - channels and and made sure that trig ch is 1-8 but when i hit play trigs are not making sound. Am I doing it wrong? Is there a way to make it work? Because it works great vise versa OT programming DT tracks through midi tracks I thought there should be a way to make it work the opposite way Audio CC in is turned on*

I figured it thanks to elektronauts :) I didn't set the right notes on DT midi tracks. Notes C6-C8 on DT correspond to notes C5-C7 on OT. My sequence on DT was in C5
