I was thinking that on really hot days you could put one of those frozen bottles of water into the pool to help keep the water cooler.

I have frozen black sunflower seeds in solo cups for my girls. I peel the cup off and they have a popsicle like treat. They will peck at the seeds and consume the ice which helps them to stay cool. Cost effective and easy to prepare.
