Since you asked: I would recommend listening to their special mini album "Raid of Dream" next. The title track is Deja Vu, which also has a fantastic MV, and Silent Night is on that album, which is a song full of surprises - it's kind of like the predecessor of In the Frozen.

Dreamcatcher is right now one of Kpop's most unique groups. They first debuted with a sound that can best be described as "rock flavoured girl pop", and due to that sound being so out of norm on the industry, they have since evolved their discography to contain more agressive edm beats and unexplored genres among girlgroups. All their albuns have one to two rock songs(and all title songs have the rock element) but I could see that wasn't your preferencen so I would suggest you react to the following albuns "Alone in the City", "End of Nightmare" and "Raid of Dreams". I would say these are the albuns where the upbeat rock sound got pushed less or it's made more experimental all together, and these albuns would all have songs that suit your taste more.

Best comment here and nice pick. "Alone in the City" the least rock album, "Escape the Era" the most rock, "Raid of Dream" is a nice test for people new to Dreamcatcher.

DREAMCATCHER, which is the only girl group doing a metal music concept, shares the same music producers, LEEZ and Ollounder, with ATEEZ. Music wise, u can even notice the similarities btw both groups: epic feel to it, ethnic and cinematic drums at the background, a lot of layers, a lot of progression changes and different sections mixed with trap-like percussion. Other aspect is that they know very well how to incorporate the traditional music attending to both groups concepts into modern music. On one hand, DREAMCATCHER have a Medieval concept mixed pretty well with hard rock/metal and EDM by using of ethnic drums and reverebrated and soft grand pianos that transport u to a Games of thrones type of scenery. On the other hand, ATEEZ have that typical pirates/vikings melodies and battle drums in a lot of songs. In addition, they used a sample that I figure that is like there signature, and Im talking bout music FX like a synthetized brass or horn (pretty creepy but dope tho) at the very beginning of DREAMCATCHER's Piri and in ATEEZ's Pirate King remix and All to action's Outro. Sorry 4 my English :)

THAT EXPLAINS WHY THEY ARE BOTH MY ULTIMATES!!!

There simply is no other girl group like Dreamcatcher. Their signature (present in all title tracks and some of the b-sides) is a rock/metal influence. Their main vocal is Siyeon (pronounced "She-on"), and if you ask me, she is one of the best (if not the best) main vocals out there atm. You could react to her video of Paradise (where she also participated in the writing), there is a piano only version as well. Also, I'd suggest to check out the special clip for Red Sun, the choreo was created by the main dancer, SuA. If you still like them by then, you can go through the whole Nightmare arc, which is a storyline spanning over these MVs: Chase me, Good Night, Fly High, You and I, What, Piri. That's a lot of fun. 😊 Yes, Scream is the title track of this album. And I really like that you are focusing on the music! Not many reactors do that.

@@Kinben69 i'd say "you and i" can have a pass because it has a little more strings in the verses thus making it easier for non rock fans to listen to it. "which a star" is a bit slower as well. "scar" and "mayday" are the ones that are mostly heavier. i think it really just depends on how it's executed.

I'd say Prequel is the album with least rock

I don't know who recommend them to you, but you made a good decision being DC your first girl group. I notice bg fans usually also like them, maybe because they're more like a gothic black sheep between ggs sounds and lyrics (and if you also watch their performance/dance practice, you just accept to sell them your soul). It's nice to see that you really enjoy your first time! Yes, their main titles are rock/metal based, and they're also the first and only kpop gg with this as their main concept. Their japanese songs are even rockier, but as you saw, they do many other genres. As an extra fact, this group was redebuted from MINX, with that concept being similar to Twice/Girls Generation, so you can imagine HOW versatile they are (and how talented since their company didn't want to disband them) This is their first studio album, and they went all out. Another extra fact, 'Paradise' is their first and only solo by their main vocalist Siyeon. Did you ever thought someone would make a live EXO 'Overdose' rock version cover and SLAY? 'Cause she did it, her vocal are ridiculous, and that cover and competition are one of the reasons they give green light to her solo I recommend you to hear their first and second albums, 'Nightmare' and 'Fall Asleep In The Mirror', since they're only 6 songs without the instrumentals. Don't worry, even if they got better each comeback, they've never dissapointed

Thank you for giving them a try~ Dreamcatcher's main sound for title tracks is rock based. They usually mix rock sounds and elements with other genres to create their trademark rockish sound. Some of their bsides would also be like that (Tension and Sahara for example). It's something that made them very unique and eye-catching since debut, but they also try new things on their bsides, explore new genres and all. So their dischography is very diverse, im pretty sure everyone can find at least one dreamcatcher song they like. Full Moon is actually a fansong, the lyrics are about the fans. This album actually has 14 tracks, not 13. Over the Sky is another fansong included in the album, but for some weird reason, it's not on spotify, so i guess that's why you missed it. Oh, the rapper you liked... Her name is Dami, and she is the one singing the jazz break down in Jazz bar. She has an amazing singing voice, all the members do, actually. I consider them to be very strong vocally, but at the same time they are all very good dancers. If you are interested in dance practices and choreography related stuff, please consider to check some of dreamcatcher dance videos out. They have a special clip (low budget video) for red sun, the choreography was created by Sua, Dreamcatcher's main dancer. Since you liked the song, i think you would enjoy the dance too. Siyeon is indeed the main vocal, but as of now, she is the only one with a solo song. We have theories that every album after dystopia (their latest album release) will have a solo song from a different member, and siyeon was the first. I really would like to see you reacting to more of their videos :)

I know what you mean; when I started out in kpop, I literally only listened to " 2NE1 and boygroups" , adding Mamamoo in 2014, but throughout the years I found some girlgroups that I fell in love with, and realized that I can find one or two songs I like listening to from every girlgroup. Dreamcatcher is one of my favourite girl groups because of their diversity in genres, their different vocal colors and their vocal abilities (may have partly to do with the fact that I started with J-rock and anime openings in my early teens 😅 ) Dami has such a unique rap voice; also, her singing in Deja Vu always melts me, I love it.

DREAMCATCHER - Dystopia: The Tree of Life (Album Review) Dreamcatcher released new album Dystopia: The Tree of Language and a new music video for the album's title track "Scream" on Tuesday. The new record marks the act's first full-length album, following various single and extended play (EP) releases from 2017. The new album features 14 tracks-including the previously released "Paradise," a solo single released by Dreamcatcher member Siyeon. _______________________________________ Track List: 1. Intro 2. Scream *Title 3. Tension 4. Red Sun 5. Black Or White 6. Jazz Bar 7. SAHARA 8. In The Frozen 9. Daybreak 10. Full Moon 11. Over the Sky 12. Outro 13. Scream (Inst.) 14. Paradise (SIYEON) _______________________________________ “Intro" is a very dramatic track. It's got a string section (likely synthesized) over a beat. It has a hint of menace and foreboding, like most of their tunes. It's quite effective at setting the mood. Their title track is "Scream," oddly enough they dial back the guitars a lot in this one. Where they show up most prominently is in the chorus. Along with a choir echoing the title, adding a Gothic feel to it. “Tension" is a lot more guitar-oriented than "Scream." It sounds a lot like their previous work but not slavishly so. The chorus is less repetitive than usual, for example, and is meatier. Starting ominously, "Red Sun" has more harmonic, bell-like chords. The vocals in the chorus are high and sweet, but the music box backing track just makes it creepy, which is a good thing. I'll take creepy Dream Catcher over sweet any day. "Black or White" is a more of a straight-ahead rock track. It's a thing of beauty, with all the attitude and sharp vocals we've grown accustomed to when it comes to this band. "Jazz Bar" sounds a lot like something you hear at...well...a modern jazz bar. You've got the piano, the R&B style beats, and seductive vocals. It's quite well done, even if it feels like they're muscling in on Mamamoo's territory. "SAHARA" has some vaguely middle eastern stylings. At least that's what some of it reminds me of, but it's not too in your face. I like how it builds to the chorus, and then has an epic drop just before it. The epic "In The Frozen" sounds like some mythic saga, even if the English in the title is a little off. Even the music suggests a journey to the unknown, so they did a masterful job arranging this one. “Daybreak" is more of a pop song than its cousins on the LP. It has a lot of R&B influences here, you also get a real good idea of how beautiful they can sound. I like how "Full Moon" has this dark and dangerous intro. This sounds very much like a Dream Catcher song. There's nothing wrong with that but it does sound a little too familiar, almost like they're copying themselves. And the copy is never as good as the original. "Over the Sky" is the song where they redeem themselves. It sounds like it's supposed to, but it has a little more heart and soul to it. “Outro" almost sounds like it was recorded backward, at least in the beginning. I like how there's a subtle wrongness to the piece. It leaves you unsettled even after the album ends. “Paradise" is Siyeon's solo track, included on this album to call more attention to it. It's a power ballad featuring her lovely vocals. There is a harder edge to the chorus. It still doesn't make it a bad song at all. And it's not really out of place here. _______________________________________

This album is one of my favourites of this year nd FYI the producers of Ateez also work on dreamcatcher's music but both groups have absolute different sound........ Also ur favourite voice is Dami nd she is my favourite too, her charisma is something different, do check out Red sun, Black or white, Paradise, Sahara videos/perfomances atleast in ur free time, u will love them....... Also regarding the rock sound..... Yes, dreamcatcher's music for a major part incorporates proper rock elements nd that is one of the reason they stand out from other groups...... They're unique........ For Albums I'd suggest to react toTaemin Move Album - honestly this album is one of the hidden gems in Kpop, u will really enjoy it

Yay!! You reacted to my favorite group!! The rapper you liked is named Dami and this was definitely her era! She actually wrote her part in Black or White and most of the girls wrote the lyrics for Jazz Bar, which, if you look up the lyrics the chorus makes more sense. Siyeon (pronounced 'She-yon') fully wrote and helped produce her solo song. The members are getting more involved creatively which I think added to the quality of the album. What's funny is all the fast rock songs you didn't particularly like were all older songs that weren't officially released so they added them on their first full album. That was their sound when they first debuted, but their current sound is more like Scream and Into the Frozen. If you want to get more into their music I would suggest listening to these EPs: Raid of Dream, End of Nightmare, and Alone in the City. Thank you for listening to Dreamcatcher! Hopefully you liked them enough to support them in the future. Because they're a Girl Group with a darker concept they don't get a lot of support in Korea, their fan base is heavily international. So we have to scream loud enough to reach across the planet!

Jag skulle rekommendera att du kollar deras Taki-Taki dance cover, Yoohyeons cover av Secret Love Song och SuAs cover av Copycat härnäst. Sen så finns det två väldigt bra guides för den som är intresserad av gruppen, Ultimate Guide to Dreamcatcher 2020 för att få info om medlemmarna samt Dodging Disbandment and Other Extreme Sports för att få info om gruppen över åren. Ha en fortsatt trevlig måndag! EDIT: Sen såklart så har de en hel del discography bakåt, varav Piri och Deja Vu är mina favorite titletracks. Rapparen som du tyckte om heter Dami!

I couldnt agree with you more! I mean I'll still listen to the "bubblegum" girl groups but personally I'll always prefer this type of music 🙏🏻

Also at 15:02, that was the deep-voice rapper you like who was singing. She has a very sweet singing voice but a very tough rapping voice. Dami just happens to be more comfortable rapping even though she sings well.

As someone who is transitioning from listening to boy groups to girl groups I'm so glad to see you chose to listen to Dreamcatcher first since they're so unique and unlike other girl groups. A very wise choice indeed!! Others have probably recommended this already but for Dreamcatcher's next album please listen to "Raid of Dream"!!!

Dreamcatcher is my ult girlgroup, they're so extremely good and talented, and I love their style!

Siyeon is pronounced as "Shi-yeon". She's indeed the main vocalist and it was her first ever solo song, which she herself also wrote the lyrics for AND produced. We stan talent :)

The title tracks of each album have an ongoing storyline, although Scream is a bit of a new chapter branching off of the first few title tracks’ story (which i also recommend you check out). This album had a lot of references to witches: Scream’s lyrics was about witch trials (“Please I don’t want to scream”) as well as a story about being strong and overcoming in spite of society shaming and belittling you, and Red Sun was to me just a fun spooky story about witches casting curses and toying with their prey. Black or White was very Michael Jackson inspired, which is a bit more obvious in the costumes for their live performances. Once again about gray areas and not fitting into boxes... I think one of the members said that their lyrics were about “problems in our society”, which can also be said for the interpretation of some of their other songs like “Piri”. Meanwhile songs like “Chase Me” and “Goodnight” have a slightly more cut and dry horror concept, sometimes with the girls singing from an antagonist point of view, such as haunting someone’s dreams. But I know Story lines and lyrics isnt all there is to it, Dreamcatcher is also just incredibly talented. I hope you enjoy their other works, theyve done tons of covers as well.

YAY DREAMCATCHER!! Their main composers are part the composers/producers team behind Ateez's music!! They always have this rockish style (usually on their title tracks) which makes them so different from other gg and their concept is kinda dark/magical/gothic, I started listening to them this February and I love them!! And yup, Paradise is Siyeon's (main vocal) firs digital single and the rapper you liked is Dami😊
