Beasts Of The Old World! Giants! Big As A Barn And Strong As A Regiment! But With A Pitiful Past

    Another option is that giants are essentially immortal untill killed. So all of them are the refugees from the Oger migration. The sky titans shrinking in both size and intelligence without the access to the ungodly amounts of food they once had becoming the giants of the modern day. Similar to how the Korks degenerated into the Orks in 40k when they couldn't find challenging enough fights. This would also example why they haven't rebuilt their civilization somewhere else.

    Fact: modern-day giants in warhammer are the end result of inbreeding after the ogres swept through their fortresses and ate them and their live stock to the brink of extinction. Hence how they are so incredibly stupid. 😬

  • @cableferret9804
    @cableferret98042 жыл бұрын

    Hmm, on the topic of their reproduction; if a Sky Titian becomes a literal mountain at a certain size (or perhaps due to old age) maybe the corrupting influence of the Ogres deity caused one or two to begin mutating after their transformation? Boulders and detritus that fall from its flanks become the giants we know today, shadowy, pathetic splinters of a once far greater being. Heck, it may not even be a mutation, but a survival strategy developed by the giants. It's a somewhat stupid concept as soon as you think about it for more than five seconds, but would neatly explain the lack of divergence in Giant forms, their low intelligence, and the gestalt memory they seem to share.

    They were not fun units, not only did you fork out a huge chunk of cash for the giant model and spend a bit of time pinning everything so it didn't fall apart. Then you had to spend quite a whack of army points on them, but about 2/3rds of the time they ran off doing randumb things you didn't want them to do and about 1/3rd of the time they're roughly going in some kind of direction towards enemy. I think at one point they may have been rules for just how shitfaced drunk at the time of battle they are as well, in which case I think it was even worse chances of them working. About the best you could usually hope for was them being enough of a 'distraction carnifex' that the opponent might waste their time hitting it instead of something more useful on your roster.

  • @93Avenger93

    @93Avenger93

    2 жыл бұрын

    even as a distraction carnifex they kind-off failed as. Since the giant was so unreliable and could not get anywhere effectively, it was a choice between pointing the cannon at it ... or pointing it at the other big scary model you brought. yeah giants did not do much in TT unless you somehow house-ruled a "no cannons" stipulation in place. Even then ... there are plenty of units that can chop them down to size on the charge rather effectively

    The ancient cave was dark and cold as Lance traveled it's vastness The voice from his sword taker of essence's whispered to him hey Lance if you ever stop being the hero what everybody needs to be this cave will be a really good place to live for your personality Lance hold tightly to the hilt of the sword yeah I guess you want to be here with that very personality of mine as essence felt his anger Oh I guess lonely manner more your speed Lance angrily in a low voice I'm warning you essence as his grip held tighter ok I'll let you be the sword went silent as Lance continue his descent through the cave echoed on each of his footsteps the torch light illuminated creepy shadows on ancient architecture of forgotten time Then Lance made it to his destination to the naked eye it was just a rock face wall he pulled out the ancient Crystal and inserted it into a small crevice the rock face wall revealed it was a ancient gate It's gates open up revealing to Lance lights of huge ancient lanterns with dwarven languages as Lance traveled to a platform ahead of him he stepped in the middle He took his time looking with his eyes for any other passages for it was vastly dark leading into huge open doorways then a voice erupted from the shadows well little mortal you have violated my santuary either you're brave or a fool who thinks that the forgotten treasures here wood give him the life of a king Well which one are you neither Lance said I came looking for you The voice from the shadows erupted again so you came here to make a name for yourself all more reason why you well die Lance look into the shadows You could kill me but at lease listen to my proposition as the Shadow voice erupted again and what could you give me little man the head of Greasue GoldTooth Then the platform shook like a earthquake as huge like humanoid figure revealed itself out of the shadows wearing a leather padded armor with silver chain mail its face had a long scar across his face his hair was long and Gray in his hands was a long rotating Cannon with a blade attachment too it As the huge Titanic figured looked into Lance's eyes do tell little man as Lance smiled revealing his long canine teeth

    What if...what if the Sky Titans really did never stop growing? What if the largest of them didn't become a mountain, but was just the size of one? What if, faced with the imminent extinction of their kind, they made a deal with the Ruinous Powers? What if the eldest and largest of the ancient Sky Titans was named Krakanrok the Black?

    "If a fly sneaks into your room and you crush it with a fly swatter, would you consider that to be a fight?" This isn't exactly considering the whole scenario. Imagine trying to crush a fly without a swatter, instead you only have a sledgehammer. Imagine the damage that you would do to your surroundings before even getting close to touching the fly. Now imagine the damage a giant could do to friendly units if sufficiently provoked.
