Bearded Vulture & Golden Eagle ⎸ PHOTOGRAPHY EXPEDITION to the ALPS - ep. 1
For many years, I have dreamed about photographing Alpine wildlife during the brutal grip of winter. This January, I finally made it happen, and went on an eight-day long expedition in the company of Mateusz Piesiak and Levi Fitze. I travelled around Switzerland and France and visited exceptional locations for wildlife photography, capturing some of my best images to date. In the first video in this mini-series, I photograph Alpine birds from atop a mountain in the heart of Switzerland. Come along for a film of bird photography, friendship and wild adventure, and stay tuned for the continuation!
The species I photograph in this video include the bearded vulture, golden eagle, white-winged snow finch, Alpine accentor and yellow-billed chough/Alpine chough.

My favorite image is the one with the five yellow-billed choughs with the one in the center being the only one in focus and happens to be looking at the camera. Great shot.

Hi Tobias, I’m having goosebumps watching your spectacular video! We have bearded vultures in a remote mountain range called The Drakensberg - dragon mountain - in South Africa. We spent a day at a special bird-hide on top of the mountain photographing these incredible birds. We didn’t have snow 😊. Thank you for sharing this awesome footage.

Pretty well made. I did the same few days ago, waiting hours to see these beautiful birds. We had not that much luck to see the golden eagle that close, but to see the birds and that scenery, was just stunning. I´m really curios to see part 2. Hands down for your work.

Spectacular images and storyline. 5 species but just amazing composition and the snow contributes to the high key effect improving subject isolation. Have subscribed and looking forward to the next episode. Was thinking I’d have to go to Lalibela, Ethiopia to see Lammergeier but this place seems really beautiful. What part of the Swiss alps is this?

Very nice, beautiful shots. I encountered a couple of golden eagles last fall in a well-known hawk migration route. Unfortunately, the lighting was poor and having just arrived I wasn’t prepared, so no shots. But I still treasure the experience of seeing such magnificent birds so close.
