If you hit the full screen button on the bottom right of the video that looks like 4 corners on a square and keep your phone vertical it doesn't have black bars at the sides like it would if you turn your phone sideways and then becomes the best possible way to view a video that was recorded this way. I hope this stops all future issues for everyone.

Let's see... Blond phase black bear attempting to prey on a brand new calf where mom was trying to hide the calf, then forced to protect it. All in recognizing a truck is less than 30' away during the entire event and not "really" impacting it; man you aren't kidding. Pretty darn amazing to see even in these days where cameras seem to catch anything. That just isn't the case in the wild, at least this close and personal with a cell phone video. Just wish the guy took the video in landscape, but he can crop it I guess. Remember, video is ALWAYS landscape, while photo's can be both portrait and landscape.

  • @BPRescue

Small black bear yes, but not a cub. Remember, they stay with mom 1-2 years, rarely more. This is not a 1st year cub, and this could be his first year on his own. If mom were around, he would not be following the calf like he did. But he was less than efficient, even timid, so it's even possible this is a 2nd year cub and something happened to mom... Once on his own, he should be better, but then again even finding the almost scentless calf is a success for him...

Jay Pomana NO, I don't think so!! That mother most definitely won't give up trying to keep her baby safe!! The bear will give up first, it will realize it's too much effort along with the risk of injury is just not worth it!! If it was a lot bigger it would stand a lot better chance of getting the meal, and being bigger means less chance of injury!! I think it just walked off and thought lesson learned!!

  • @JohnJohn-qv4mg

Bears are killed by elks more than your little brain knows. The best thing to do is try not to correct someone and act like a know-it-all when you clearly do not understand much about the topic. If the elks kicks the bear in the right place (meaning an elk kick to a bears jaw or certain part of its leg or other parts of its body) would injury the bear badly enough where the bear will A) not be able to catch enough food and starve to death, and B) not be able to protect itself and get killed by another bear or larger animal. Do you think nothing kills bears except for humans and other bears? Larger animals, like bears, are often killed by much smaller animals, or animals that a human does not understand how it could kill a bear. ... I grew up in Alaska and you are like the typical dumb tourist we used to have who goes and touches a moose or thinks he can walk around the elk because you´re too stupid to realize the harm an elk or moose can do to you. You don´t even realize elks kill bears often. The stupidty of mankind is pathetic.

Any type of titties would be fine. Even fat chick titties and old lady titties.

An excellent video that gives insight into the problem we have in S. Florida with too many bears. Deer will leave their fawns alone hiding in the grass while they go forage. Bears, with their incredible sense of smell, hunt the fawns and eat them. That is why we have had a dramatic decline in the number of deer in S. Florida. Unfortunately, the public does not want to hear this. To them, bears are cute and cuddly.

It appears you have a cell phone on a gimbal? In that regard maybe upgrade the camera and shoot in landscape. If you do have a gimbal, there is no excuse for the portrait mode. :) Awesome video though that many will never experience.

if elk are anything like deer they leave their babies in a hiding place during the day, while they go forage for food.
