I was judging if someone was a child or an adult by the sound of the voice and by what was said.. Clearly, one is a child, playful, unaware of danger, repeating what is said in the background and singing at the same time. The other one, definitely a little older (or old enough to be the mother) hysterical as a young teenager could be in such a moment but giving orders or instructions as a young(ish) adult would. I did mention in my comment that lots of mothers like to call their husbands(or partners)..dad..daddy, imitating their kids, personally I never did but I heard it quite often. That voice is without a doubt more mature. I also assumed that if the man was alone in the house with 2 children, he would appear slightly more concerned than he is.. and what makes you think if the mother is present that she's the ONLY ONE keeping quiet about what is happening..??? rather unlikely..!! There is NO older girl...there is a woman, probably his wife, hysterical, and a little girl trying to scream as loud as her mother... I bet the man needs a vacation to get away from them( woman & child ). By the way, she calls him Daddy because women often call their partner "daddy" when their child has just done so !

Not nice at all! Please hear me out. By teaching this bear to lose her natural fear of people, she’s creating a dangerous situation that might lead to wardens being forced to relocate her, or euthanize her if she keeps returning, if the behavior becomes prominent. It’s called habituation, and it’s very bad, She needs to stay away from people, and forage away from human habitation or restaurant dumpsters in the alleys. And there are other reasons, here’s one of them. After sows become pregnant, the egg doesn’t implant or grow right away. And later on, when it’s time to hibernate in the fall, if it’s been a “fat year,” the egg will then implant, grow and the cub will be born in the den while she’s still hibernating. If it’s been a bad year for food availability, she’d just naturally resorb the egg. BUT…. if you’ve provided extra food for her and her body is fooled into thinking it was a fat year, she AND a cub will come out in the spring, and there won’t in actuality be enough wild food for both of them. The cub may die, they’ll both be starving when the sow could have taken care of herself better without a baby to feed, and your food supplements will actually have caused unneeded suffering. You have to understand more, to realize feeding wild animals isn’t always a Good Thing. So, it was actually inappropriate to feed her human foods, for both safety reasons, and ecological reasons, it could cost them their lives for many reasons. These are just two of them.

In California that watermelon probably cost like $30

He can smell the food in there...while bears have terrible eyesight, they have incredible smell....they can smell things from miles away... my neighbor had a black bear break into a locked freezer to get to a few wild turkeys...they were frozen and he still smelled them...

That doesn’t mean it is protected, just that it’s been caught by wardens, tagged, is being followed and studied, and the wardens are keeping an eye on whether or not he’s becoming a dangerous pest they need to take further action on.

Could be that someone saw the cute bear, got it a treat from their fridge while the bear watched and learned. Bear refined it's system, bypassing the human to get its snacks. Its sense of entitlement will increase with each successful refrigerator raid. Eventually it gets owned by the bear. Best not to reward it if you want to avoid negotiating with a bear to keep your beer.
