Thanks for the info. We are going on our first trip in September doing the Seagull Lake, Alpine Lake route. After this I will make sure to check with the outfitter.
I think we used that same blue life jacket for our kids.
My brother his daughter and myself was just there at lake Agnes 2 weeks ago, had a bear come into camp and sniffed around. Bit holes in a few things but finally ran off after some yelling and throwing a water bottle at her, on to go to next site across the bay about a hour later..

I hadn’t been up the Nina Moose way since about 1996. I can’t believe how great the phone service is up here! Anyways, it’s 5:30 am here on Agnes. and I’m staying awake till light. Bear has awoken us twice this evening. Put tooth holes in a plastic container that had cumin in it. We had fried fish and rice last night and the wind was blowing the smoke and smell towards our sleeping area. The length of this trip makes food containers not feasible but our food is untouched. It’s hanging about 15 feet up with 10 feet clearance from nearest branch. I often separate the food supply into two or three lighter containers, rather than one heavy one.
Always carry bear spray you never know if the bear you encounter is a predatory bear
On the topic of noisemakers - would a whistle be appropriate? I'm more likely to have a whistle in a survival bag than an air horn. But maybe the pitch would just excite the bear more?

@@stevensapyak7971I take my 357. Not the best for a bear, but a warning shot in the air will probably do it. I really don't want to explain a dead bear to the rangers.
