I remember when I first heard this song. I was driving up the m5 in my lorry listening to gregg james on radio1. I was stressed out from the days work and he put this on. It was the first time I even heard of u guys and it just mellowed me out. From that day bears den became my favourite band and still r today x

"Lie back and think of England" was a tip women were given in the olden days when they're were having sex to get through it. Just a fun fact there. But seriously, this bands amazing

"Lie back and Think of England" means to do one's duty as a wife because it was represented by the church etc. that a good girl does not enjoy sex though it was necessary to conceive children.

Love this band, and this song. When the horns kick in it reminds me so much of Fake Empire by the National (also an excellent tune).

Late by 8 years but I am glad that I found this awesome band and this lovely song. The feeling we get while watching sunset and listening to this track is something special

I'm sure you've heard a lot more of their songs. But if you haven't check out "Red Earth and Pouring Rain" I believe it's their best.

So simple and amazing! One of the best bands out there today

I first heard about these guys when I was scrolling through the list of upcoming events in my hometown of Montreal. They put Isaac as a preview song, and I immediately fell in love (I covered it over on my channel btw). Since then, I have discovered the rest of their music and my admiration of their talent and of the strong emotions their music evokes has only grown. Hopefully I'll get to see them live some day. Until then, I'll just keep playing Islands on loop.
